Oh and the baby is doing well...she's very active! I have been working on my registries and I picked out a few chick & duckling outfits and towels that are really cute.

I am also trying to help coordinate my baby shower--I found my invites and started making a list of who I am inviting...and what kind of food to serve. We're still looking for a venue though...

You know how I switched clinics, right?

Well--here's a funny story....

So I was supposed to have an appointment on the 10th (with my old doctor). I thought I'd made it perfectly clear that I was switching clinics when I called and left a message for the nurse telling that I was switching and asking for all of my records to be sent to the new clinic.

However, Monday night I get home from work and have an automated phone call message on the answering machine from the clinic reminding me of my appointment the next day. Of course, they're closed so I can't call back until the next morning...

So the next morning, I call back and get the reception desk. I told them I needed to cancel my appointment and they tell me okay. I then ask to be transferred to my doctor's nurse. So they send me back and the nurse isn't there--so another nurse answers. I explained to her that I canceled my appointment this morning and before I could even get to the and please let (the other nurse) know that I am switching clinics, part--this lady interrupts and says--"Oh you forgot to fast?" I said, "What?" She goes, "Today was supposed to be your gestational diabetes testing and you should have fasted this morning." I told her that was news to me, I'd already eaten breakfast and had a cup of (decaf) coffee with cream & sugar...she said--didn't (the other nurse) tell you you were supposed to fast? I told her no. She said they usually send out a post card and then follow up with a phone call. I told her no. I had not received either notification. She apologized for the other nurse and I told her it was a good thing I didn't come down and waste an hour off of work for nothing. Her response--oh that testing takes several hours. I told her again, that was news to me.

Then I told her I was going to be switching clinics and that decision was already made up a week or more ago but this was yet another reason that I shouldn't feel guilty about it. The lack of patient care and competency are reasons enough to switch. This other nurse was really nice and I felt sorry that I'd had to take it out on her but there comes a time when I can't help it. I left her my work number and my cell phone number and told her to have (the other nurse) call me if she had any questions but it was not necessary--just to go ahead and have this other nurse send my stuff to the new clinic.

So then the other nurse called and left me two messages on my HOME phone while I was at work (with my cell phone in my purse).

Of course, when I got home from work--the other nurse was already gone for the day--so I left her a not-so-nice VM and literally went down the list of things she'd screwed up--how it affected me and how I was sick of it.

RFF Good for you. It sounds like you have made a good choice to get out of a place where the left hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. (yes you read that correct)
Hope things continue to go well for you DH and baby.

Cute chick pics! What kind were they again? I know you posted somewhere a few pages back... So are these the first chicks belonging to your farm? Good to hear from you - I think it's been awhile.
