safe for the chickens to eat ???

More progress on the Quail Hutch for Rainwolf.

I cut the frame for the door on the miter saw, put it in my picture frame clamps over night and then ran it through the table saw. This gave me two exact halves which I used to sandwich the hardware cloth. Cabinet hinges worked out well.

Requirements are for removable dividers. Rainwolf - I think this will work well, but you have to tell me. The divider slides in through the door, when you get it in place, you simply move these little 'cams'. See the pictures, I hope they are worth 1000 words

No divider in place. See the cam? (small block of OSB with a screw in it -- fancy huh

)

Starting to slide the divider into place. Cam has not been moved.

Divider is in place, but I have not yet 'locked' it into position. The next picture shows the came rotated 90 deg, into the locked position. There will be two cams, front and rear, located near the top of the hutch.

That looks like the saw we just bought a few days ago....

For a dust bath ?
They NEED a dust bath.
Get a tub at Home Deot & fill with half sand & 2 feed scoops of DE & place it where it stays dry....clean out shavings with a cat pan spoon...I wouldn't use stall dry for the very reason you said.
I have poop trays under my roosts, with sand in them, and no one dust bathes in them, is this any help at all ?

Probably does not help, as I never did answer your question, but I would say no.
No stall dry.

I forgor to take something out of the freezer for dinner...dang it!!
So at a loss, I checked the garden & with a 5 gallon stainless steel bowl, cut back my planter of basil just above they first branches.
I had SO much pest that have 4 cups for dinner w/pasta, and froze 4 more plastic tubs with 4 cups in each.
had no pine nuts or almonds

, so it is just EVOO, garlic & pesto...in the food processer.....oh man does it ever smell Italian in here~~~
I planted too much (my Mother says there is NO SUCH THING as too much basil) so I gave her an entire flat with 6 packs in it, 12" tall...so she is having lots of pesto too!!!
One happy Italian...
