You are more than welcome to swing by. I will PM you my phone number.

A sad note. Last week I finally made the decision to let Puppy aka the Big Dog go to the rainbow bridge. I hope that somehow he might be with my Kaitlyn and that they will be playing together, until it's time for me to join them. Puppy was losing weight, and was chewing holes in his hide. We just couldn't control the allergies anymore. He would have been 13 years old on February 10th. He out lived his life expectancy by many years. I miss him.

Oh no... so sorry to hear about Puppy...

Hello all,

. I live in Arlington, WA I currently have 3 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Rhode Island Red and a Ameracana (who should start laying in the next 2 weeks). I also just picked up a mail order of cornish crosses n 5 more RIR. Is there anyone out there that can answer some questions I have about Barred Rock Cockerels?

Really nice people here.
I've never had barred rock cockerels, but know lots of folks in this group who are extremely knowledgeable and will be able to help.

So I wanted to post a bunch of replies last night and couldn't - there was no 'reply' function available. I thought BYC was having problems until I realized that I'd been logged off. I sure didn't do it - I was in the middle of reading and posting to this thread when it must have happened. Anyone else get randomly booted off the forum?
Just curious -

Vancouver, WA here... Ridgefield, actually... looking for other chicken fanciers in the area who want to meet up and/or show. I'd also like to volunteer and learn along with with a local 4-H/FFA group. I had some experience competing poultry judging contests in FFA--1984 1st individual Oregon State, and 37th individual Nationals.

Thanks!

Jenn

--large flock of mixed layers, in the near future I will begin working with other fanciers to preserve Marraduna Euskal Oiloak... the rare Basque Hen.

Nah, nothing like a Botticelli, more like a Bouguereau - just look at that expression, they share it!

That's her!

That's the painting I've been googling for!

Artist?[/quote]
William-Adolphe Bouguereau (November 30, 1825 - August 19, 1905) (one of my favourite painters, his figures are simply gorgeous)

Ah, Bougereau! In my defence I'm running on an average of five hours of sleep a night since Sunday and today I have added acausal blood-glucose crashes which are making me exhausted and very very stupid.

Unfortunately neither of these things release me from animal care or other household duties. I need respite care or something.
