One last chicken to catch; I think I'll wait til it's dark and they are roosting - much less stress for everyone. I'm glad now that I put those colored bands on the legs, I can identify identical chickens by different colored bands! (Small flock going to new home tomorrow).
So Himself and I just finished making the "pickle" for the hides we are tanning. Did I tell ya'll about the coyote he skinned yesterday! He left the head on with the ears, and the muzzle but no teeth or eyes. And, it was not a bad pelt either; sometimes coyotes can be pretty mangy, but this was kinda nice. Then we tossed in a whole bunch of bunny skins - we have three big buckets of hides now. They stink a bit so they are out on the deck (he offed four rabbits today too; busy man; all I did was sell eggs and cook).
Oh, and we racked the 10 gallons of wine into carboys. The mead is perfection, the persimmon needs a bit of aging. Both are really nice though.
Hey T HI - glad you got the computer and can join us more often!
I'll be glad when all these basement birds are gone (tomorrow) there are 4 cockerels in there now - it's going to be just wonderful tomorrow at 5 am!
