Just thought I'd pop in a share the really cool egg we collected yesterday(the one in the middle). Not sure if the computer or my camera did it justice. It is a 4 on the Marans color scale when wet but has the prettiest plum colored matte bloom when dry.
And, no, this is not an early April fools!

Illia talked about plum bloom but I can remember which chickens she said would throw them. We do have 2 WM's from her.
We also have a rumpless girl from CL that lays a chocolate egg so I suppose it could be her. It's a mystery!
Hope everybody is doing well.
Ron B- Hope you are healing up fast!!!
Very nice. Let me know when ya have that hen marked! I can sneak off wiff her and little Miss Gracie in one trip.

The issue is how you sleep, you need to sleep toes UP, not toes pointed.
keep the achilles stretched, not retracted, otherwise yes, the first step in the morning will tear tissue, then you get the hard lump of adhesion............If you sleep on your tummy, hang the toes off the foot of the bed, otherwise on your side, curl up, never point.
I used to sleep on my tummy legs straight & that way toes were pointed & in so doing, shrank the tendon & in the morning I tore it trying to stretch it out so fast...............as to walk.........

I have a set of those silly looking night boots to keep my toes up, but I ma a tosser turner and the dang velcro on the boots sticks to everything! I wake up with my blankets bound around my legs! And then there was the time I woke in the middle of the night to pee, and forgot I was wearing them - Faceplant!

No more flip flops for you !
Flip flops and other no heeled shoes and sleeping incorrectly are the reason the tendons are injured !!

I have noticed that when I wear high-heels , I have no heel pay at all, but my toes....

I used to keep a pair of high heels at my bedside to wear the first few minutes that I am up. Then my dog grabbed one and chewed it up.

CL: Agree with you 100%.....hence the term "Shoot-Shovel-Shut up". We have to take care of our criters and by law we can protect livestock. Yes, there are some things that "protected" but I really doubt crows are. Here starlings have a bounty on their head. 0.25 cents a piece. right now the starlings are trying to get in the squirrel hole in my willow tree....they are really pissing off the momma squirrel.

Oh Oh Oh I can see it now I am gonna be so rich! Gonna kill starlings and send them to 4312 to collect booty..

CR how did you do? I promise the check is in the mail. I am sorry...been busy.

On another note: I am sure you may have seen it on TV.....someone (2 at least) broke into our high school and TRASHED it. They are figuring soime 200,000 worth of damage. I have a friend who works for a local window/glass company. they had an order to replace 65 windows. Trashed the principals office, the counselor's office and at least one teacher (many did not like her). the broke/stole many computers, TVs. Destroyed all the pop machines in the commons, a giant TV that was in the commons that held high school stuff on it. itis just awful. Many kids are feeling devestated and violated.
That sucks so bad! I have a zero rule when it comes to that kind of stuff. Hope they catch them and do some body modifications that will prevent them form being able to grasp things.
