Thanks so much! I do appreciate knowing that a lot! I decided to just take my chances and hope one or more of my own girls goes broody in the springtime. I will have 11 girls, all different breeds, *someone* is bound to go broody...I hope! Now you're making me want to get some silky chicks in the spring though, and have a separate coop for them...hmm

You know they don't take up as much room as LF, right? They are small! Lol! I'm not a chicken pusher, really!

Well I already know I want to save up between now and the spring and get THIS or THIS coop. They are cheap and have deep litter pans (instead of the typical 1-2" deep, they are 4" deep); they seem like the best option and have free shipping. They'd also fit silkies well, having maybe 4 girls and a roo :)

Those look great! I have been looking at getting another small coop too. I have a tractoe that my silkies will be in, but I may want to add more next spring! Never know!

You might want to think about getting a LARGE coop instead. You know about chicken math. ya never know where chickens will come from

Just got back from Monroe feed. Got one blue Wyandotte and three blue/red wyandottes to put under my broody speckled sussex she has been sitting on four eggs for 25 days. I gave up on the eggs. I will try and slip the chicks under her tonight. So I have a gold lace wyandotte with two three week old babies , my sussex will have four now and I have a mottled java that is sitting on seven eggs due in two weeks. I don't want to keep any of them !!!!!!!!! I have enough chickens (31).

That's ok I'm pretty sure I know where I'm going to re-home them (after dark)
