Hey CL - If I missed giving my girls the Eprinex in the spring but I suspect they need it, (I'm seeing some dirty bottoms on a couple of girls) can I still give it to them now and then again in late Fall or just before they moult? Or is it too late for the Eprinex now?

Scored 15 10' long, 26" wide clear polycarbonate roofing panels, 200 bucks.

I have Eprinex too. But I got Sevin powder and I think I am going to get Permectrin II so I can spray. I have flies too so I figure I can spray it all around every week or so.

I have flies. Oh and I have learned that Silkies get mites very easily, so I am arming myself to prevent an investation the best I can. I actually just don't like bugs! Any kind really.

Maybe you should put some under the featherz on yer neck next time ya treat yer chooks! Sure am glad I don't got no bugs on me!!!

Just got back from Monroe feed. Got one blue Wyandotte and three blue/red wyandottes to put under my broody speckled sussex she has been sitting on four eggs for 25 days. I gave up on the eggs. I will try and slip the chicks under her tonight. So I have a gold lace wyandotte with two three week old babies , my sussex will have four now and I have a mottled java that is sitting on seven eggs due in two weeks. I don't want to keep any of them !!!!!!!!! I have enough chickens (31).

That's ok I'm pretty sure I know where I'm going to re-home them (after dark)

But Ron I don't think you can top my record. Steal them for eggs until new chicks start laying. Then UN-steal them when said new chicks start laying !!!

I painted my toenails orange today and then put on my flip flops and went out into the yard. All my chickens ran over and attacked my toes!
They have never done this with any other color.

I have not been here in a whlile - busy putting in a foundation for a green house and digging a trench along the side of what used to be my lawn to try and drain it. Greenhouse came out great - my lot is sloped so we had a bit of digging to do to get it right. Drainage ditch looks okay, keeps the mud off my path to the chicken coop, but the former lawn is still a smelly swampy mess. I think I am going to turn it ont a pond. Will that be okay wih chickens roaming around it?

Good to see you!
You don't mean your whole yard do you?

I have been using Eprinex for 2 years now. I think it is fine to give it any time of the year. I give them their forst doese at 6-8 months and I meant to give it twice per year, but it is more like every 8 months. It cleared up the poopy butts on my big cochins.

Mama hen who adopted the 3 week old chicks s few weeks back is doing great. She is showing the chicks the great outdoors, but sticking close to the coop or run when she does so. None of the other hens bug her, and the Barnevelder roosters even stay near and guard them! The funniest though, is my big german shephersXstandard poodle Shasta. Mama hen must really trust her! when the chicks get a little too far from the hen, or call out looking for her, Shasta runs over and uses her nose to nudge them back to Mama Hen.

Chickielady - that Cuckoo Marans is the best Mama Hen I have ever seen!
