The heat here is terrible... yesterday it was 104 degrees. the day before was just as hot and we managed to loose 2 rabbits due to heat. Only person home was hubby's 35 yr old stepson that can't be bothered to do anything except for himself and only if he smells bad enough will he even bother to shower. YUCK!!!!!! So 2 rabbits died. They were watered in the morning before hubby and I went and worked on our new house for the day. Really makes me mad and sad at same time.

Came home to the dead rabbits. and one of my hens having a bald head where she got picked on. She literally looks like they picked at her until it was down to bone. So she's in her own cage now and doing good. I am going to have to trim up the dead skin. (ewww not looking forward to that) but she is healing nicely although hubby now calls her Friar pluck. Go figure.

I am hoping the heat will go down here because me and super hot heat do not really get along.

Well, I survived day one of Cub Camp. Three more to go. I can hardly move. Up, down, squat to get at the boys' level, etc. Holding wood while they hammer. One child managed to hit my thumb pretty hard. Owie! I feel like I worked out in a gym for a few too many hours. If I sit down (like now), I can hardly move when I get back up. Must be a sign of old age.

The four of us station volunteers got through the building of close to 200 lion banks and 200 jeep derby cars. Tomorrow is painting day. Thank goodness... we can give them free rain to exercise their creativity and all we have to do is guide them. I'm grateful they split the Webelos off to another team of volunteers.... I doubt we could have gotten through projects for 310 boys.

And have I told you guys I'm jealous of your meetup? I think Bothell is too far from me though; Anyone closer want to meet up?? I'd go as far south as Puyallup or Auburn/Fed. Way is alright too, and as far north as Renton; I could go east to Issaquah or Tiger Mountain or even North Bend. Anyone around those parts wanna meet up? I'm in Covington 98042

After having read people's posts about Coastal Farm Supply in Auburn, I went and think I have a new favorite place!

We could have a meeting there, shop for our chickens, and then go to someplace in the Supermall for a bite to eat or something.

I haven't been to Coastal Farm Supply yet. I've got to get out there one day soon. But depending on the date, that could be a fun place for a meet up!

I'm in Olympia so could meet up n Puyallup depending on date time etc.

 I wouldnt mind meeting in Puyallup to eat and than the ones who wanted to go to the new store could head there. Just a thought that we we all would be happy

I have to see when the date would be.. How does that sound to you SadiSue and everyone elsa JustBugged does that sound good? Maybe we could do something fun too like bring something chicken related all wrapped up and draw numbers to see who goes first. Just a thought it will get us talking thats for sure.

I am  SIXTY years old  and today I did the hardest thing of my old life! I had my 16 yr. old GSD Kala put to sleep.

I am so sorry Ron - it is one of the hardest things to do. I understand she was a good friend of yours for many years. It's tough to say goodbye.

That sounds like a fun idea, Zgoat! And if there are separate meet ups, I would try to make the further south one. I have stuff I can give to SadieSue, and possibly for you and Totalcolour also.
