When using gasoline and with good coverage 5 seconds is enough time to wait before it is safe to remove the nest. Do as you wish but know the truth or the alternatives.

The fast evaporation of gasoline instantly freezes the wasps in place or so fast in fact that they merely fall to the ground. Remember, forceful and close application is essential.

Also don't monkey with or disturb the wasp nest ahead of time. If you do they'll have their Irish up and may come after you before you can freeze them in place. However the same is true with soaps and insecticides only more so because of the time it takes for these substances to take effect.

My husband is camping for the week. When he gets home, I'll share all of the ideas with him and we'll make a plan. The nest is in the corner close to the door of the run so that definitely works in our favor!

Remind hubby that if he decides to do the gas trick not to do it close to a light fixture.
