We give our eleven ducks water from a drinking container. Living in Florida, the weather is so unpredictable and we aren't the best schedule keepers. We put it just inside the duck house far away from any bedding. The floor is composite boards spaced so the excess water and poop runs down to the ground underneath. The ducks have also started using the water area for their bathroom. Keeps the mess mostly to one side. When they were smaller we use to take the water away but honestly, the container stays pretty clean in there. They use a under the bed bin or their pool for daytime drinking.
