I'll try the niacin and or brewers yeast if I can find it. Poor girl. Its her right leg, and she keeps trying to stand on her left leg and her beak. She just can't quite pull the right leg under her, and ends up laying on that side while trying to get up.

Oh, guess whos sorta-semi walking today? Yes, Baby Girl is sort of walking/pulling herself around inside and outside. She's not up, but she is using her feet to move quickly and determenedly about the barn floor. I left her and lucky to move about the barn today, and goose was everywhere from the looks of things. She's gonna be up before Lucky.

yes, but she spent her energy in locomotion as opposed to vocalization today. But I'd putting money that the wonks is up a notch or two! LOL

Embden, or maybe a chinese/embden mix? She looks like my embden, but I can't tell if she has the pooch at the bottom and her neck and bill looks different.





I'm happy to hear wonk power seems to be increasing.

Not a great picture but it does help see the size difference between the Roman and Embdens. Hard to tell size in the picture but I'd guess young Embden.

lol. I forget since I don't have a gander they don't quite get as big a beer belly as the girls. Looking at squishy with the girls reminded me.

I did not get a new goose, my friend CochinBrahmaLover here on byc did, and is curious about what it is. Shes not that young, and in fact lives in Alaska, and is laying right now.

She's just curious. Reports this too be a very sweet goose, so I was thinking it couldn't be an embden, but I realize thats unfair, they can't all be as bad as my moms. Then again, she had a flock of upwards to 30.

Oh, BTW, there is a 60% wonk in the barn this morning. Baby was P.O.'s when the geese were let out and put into the pen. She was vocally disgruntled. Its lovely.

What a lovely sound that must have been. Is she up walking yet? and how is Lucky doing today? Or better yet how is Marty doing today too. I love my Embden but he can be trying at times.

Lucksy right foot has issues still. Gonna start water/swim therapy 2x a day. That should cheer her up, if nothing else. LOl She is really about the same for days now. Waiting for a sprain, starin, or something of that nature (torn ligament? tendon issues?) She was a fat duck, now she's a rather skinny duck for a jumbo.

Baby isn't walking, but did stand very briefly this morning. Let me say that when she "cruising" she walk what would be the equivalent of a human doing the duck walk, she uses her legs and scoots on her underside. LOL Precurser to walking, I guess you might say its the goose crawl.

Lmbo, I think embdens are the sweetest geese ever. I just discovered today my geese get very upset when you hold the kids down on the ground and tickle them. I had both geese in my face honking at me to leave their babies alone. The embden is also overly concerned they will hurt themselves playing, and supervises closely.
