Waterfowl Pics and Chat!

I had to move my lawyer appt to tomarrow. However, just this morning the city attorney gave me her number, so I'll maybe call her in the a.m., then if she'll do it, just see me lawyer for an appt about the city paving a little section of my back corner.

Oh, Baby Girl is sitting very upright today. She's about finished her antibiotics, but is looking very much perkier, even DH commented on it today. Also, when we bring in the ducks and geese to the barn (and the ducks worked it out much faster than the geese did, LMAO - they go running right for the light in the barn door) the toulouse all go look ever the fence, and Baby and they are nuzzling each other (well, like geese do) and they are preening her neck for her, and they all make those happy goose sounds. Thats right before they go for her dinner bowl. LOL. THey have food, but her special food tastes better I guess. Spike, my muscovey boy, invites himself in with Lucky and Baby every night.

Old Lucky is still just having leg issues. I don't know If I should go to the vet or just keep waiting. She's stil got trouble getting the leg under her, but in the water she moves it. Its not broken or dislocated. I'm worried that since she's such a heavy girl, and the giant pekings suffer some leg issues, that she maybe in for a long haul.

Marty, glad Baby continues to make progress in her recovery. Hope Lucky pulls through without having to go to the vet's. Great news on the city prosecutor talking to you. I really believe that criminal charges should be filed and the prosecutor should pursue restitution for you. Please keep us updated and please feel free to call me if you have any legal questions.

Marty I wonder if giving Lucky some niacin in her water might help or adding some brewers yeast to top of her feed. Possibly couldn't hurt to try some.

I'll try the niacin and or brewers yeast if I can find it. Poor girl. Its her right leg, and she keeps trying to stand on her left leg and her beak. She just can't quite pull the right leg under her, and ends up laying on that side while trying to get up.

Oh, guess whos sorta-semi walking today? Yes, Baby Girl is sort of walking/pulling herself around inside and outside. She's not up, but she is using her feet to move quickly and determenedly about the barn floor. I left her and lucky to move about the barn today, and goose was everywhere from the looks of things. She's gonna be up before Lucky.

Marty, I am thrilled that Baby is improving nicely and hope that Lucky also begins to make more progress!!

Me too!

I almost am willing to believe its the geese coming to visit that really have her anxious to get a move on. Poor girl, she's lost some weight, but Luckys lost even more! OMG.

I can believe it. I think Spirit does better getting to go outside with his buddies. He also lost a lot of weight after his surgery, but is starting to put it back on now that his appetite is back to normal. I expect Baby will bounce back too.

Poor Lucky.

and

Any ideas what this goose is?
Embden, or maybe a chinese/embden mix? She looks like my embden, but I can't tell if she has the pooch at the bottom and her neck and bill looks different.

I'm happy to hear wonk power seems to be increasing.

yes, but she spent her energy in locomotion as opposed to vocalization today. But I'd putting money that the wonks is up a notch or two! LOL
