Good mama, bad goosie! Ha ha ha.

Yes, I know the poor thing ran her tail feathers off. She isn't hurt, just can't walk. And, being a really big duck, its even worse for her.

The poor girl.

Yea you should see them when someone needs looked at. They are not use to being handled... mostly they get talked to but it's not like I can say "Whats wrong with your foot?" and expect an answer.

However I did ask Squishy one time what was wrong with his foot and he immediately quit favoring it

Turned out he'd pulled a toenail loose.

Poor Squishy. He's sure growing up to be a handsome boy. All geese are just nice anyway. I told DH that I'd get rid of almost everything, but the geese aren't leaving. I'm a total addict.

And, I found several folks I can buy more exhib. quality eggs from, so if I hatch only goose eggs, turkeys, and Javas this year, I'll still be full in 3 bators if I plan it right. LOL

I adore the geese but 26year old DD has fell in love with the ducks. She's spending the winter with us as She's outta work and my back has been acting up.
I'm just hoping I get some fertile eggs outta this crew.
I'll have turkey, ducks, Scovies and the geese. It might be a lot of eggs if they all "get their groove on"

Marty and Sue... can't wait to do next spring's dewlap hatch-along with you guys!! I'll send Lydia a couple eggs so she can join in the fun, too!!

Lucky and Baby Girl are outside, and liking it. Lucky has nibbled everything withen reach, and baby has moved many many times, almost standing now and then. I know if she were able to get up, she would be. I brought them home some prarie hay today. No timothy available.

No doubt their pool time is helping strengthen their legs. Did you ever find any visible wounds on their legs? Or maybe the injury was caused by some sort of movement in trying to run for cover?

I'll have to use a Muscovy for my bator J.

Glad to hear they are enjoying these warm temps. How much was your hay? Mostly hourses around here hard to find resonable grass hay. Haven't got Dad to cut loose of any of his yet.
