Hot cocoa when its a brisk 50* sounds like heaven just now. I'm out before dawn moving geese around and milking goats and its C O L D!!!! I guess it was a balmy 17* this morning, and I know I have it lucky compared to some.

Count my place as one of the colder winters in the US this year. I am grateful to be having highs in the 30s these days, but our nights are still bitter. At least the days are getting longer and the worst is almost behind us.

I love it that the days are getting longer! Every January I print Sunrise/Sunset calenders for the next few months so I can encourage myself that the end to the dark days is near.
