Do you think I would be able to get rid of my Silver Spangled Hamburg Rooster there??? He is beautiful but just doesn't fit in with my breeding plans.

I plan on attending if I can find someone, anyone who will go with me. It's a long drive and I get lonely! lol

You can get rid of anything if the price is right. They have an auction at the end of the day for people who didnt sell what they wanted and just dont want to take it home. I have never stayed that long though. Jenn

We are about 8 miles from Monticello. In case you don't know where that is it is in between Cedar Rapids and Dubuque.

Someone told me that at the swap they went to you had to sell the cage with the chicken. I hope thats not the case because we would be borrowing cages. Can I just bring cardboard boxes or something??

At Waverly you do not have to sell the cages with the birds. Just tell the people they will need to get thier cage. Most do anyway. Both years I was there I brought pet taxis to put my animals that I bought into and everyone that I saw there always went and got thier own boxes. I will probably bring a few smaller ones for the button quails, Im not sure yet. DOnt worry about it, people will have thier own. Just make sure you bring enough to take home what you buy..lol Jenn

I will be at this one too. Only as a buyer though. We have been going for I believe the last 3 years. April and Sept. I believe are to two sales we make it to down there for. It's a long drive but well worth it. (I believe it's almost 3 hours one way for me). Gotten lots of animals there....chickens, lambs, rabbits, guinnea fowl, pot belly pigs..... LOVE THIS SALE!!!!!!

Only a few more days!! I am taking 2 mixed goose ganders, hatched last spring. 2 brown turkeys, hatched last year. A bunch of button quails.. I am not sure how I am going to box these little guy up yet..lol I will have some mixed standard ducklings and some banty chicks... I think that is all I am taking. Jenn

I know I am getting excited for the swap...
The drive not so exciting...Considering we leave around 3 in the morning

to there... We had talked about getting a hotel for saturday night, but with having the animals here I will need to do checks and feedings before we leave. So I guess that means I will probably have to get up at 1 in the morning....

BUT hey it's all worth it....
Let's see...I am taking......EMPTY CAGES TO PUT ANIMALS IN!!!!!!!
