Guessing disgruntled kid.I am wondering why on earth it would occur to someone to suddenly - after more than 5 years! - want an old coop they previously left behind for the new buyers.

For real!!!I am wondering why on earth it would occur to someone to suddenly - after more than 5 years! - want an old coop they previously left behind for the new buyers.
Nah! Kids don't care...their give-a-damn meter resets pretty quick.Guessing disgruntled kid.
In my parts, to build a coop I had to get a building permit (similar to a shed). I don't think I could legally take something that is a permitted part of the property WITHOUT it being agreed upon in the terms of sale. You sold a house with a coop and left the coop, and now you want to buy it back? Was the coop part of the original sale or did you have arrangements to pick it up later?
If the coop was left on the property without any agreement to the contrary it's their coop now and has been for the last 5 years. I don't know if the price is good or bad for it, but if you want it, then negotiate a price for it if you think it's too high.
If I ever sell my house and the buyer wants the coop, I would be fine adding the cost of it (depreciated) to the price of the house. Otherwise I plan on taking it.
