My Kentucky relatives were up yesterday and they said it's already starting to get into spring there. Back when I used to show horses, we would go down to Kentucky for the March shows and alays get excited, "Wow! There are leaves on the trees!"

I like the fact that we're starting to see signs of spring in TN, but if I could, I would go back to Ohio (or anywhere north) in a heartbeat. In the summer it's so flipping hot you can't do anything between 9 am and 3 pm. What a waste of an entire season! Plus I'm sick of the anti-progress, anti-education, racist attitude down here.

It is cool here, with a cold front and rain moving in. But at least it looks like spring is coming. Have been working outside in just a long sleeve shirt and a sweat shirt in the mornings. Better than my family has it right now....fires in Florida... all around them! Only one is threatened and she needs her property cleaned any ways she says

she wants to build and can't until it is cleared.

I have an uncle and a husband who are just fascinated with Montana. I gave a list of my requirements for me to move up there, like very sturdy, enclosed, walk ways to my animal buildings so I can feed and water. Everything designed to handle the winter. Told them I wouldn't even consider it until THEY went up for a winter. Husband has never been at all, uncle has been in May and August. I know it's pretty, but you're not going to be seeing it when you're buried under snow! I was looking online at land, a lot of doesn't even have trees. And the trees are totally different! I thought it was funny how the adds boasted of year round access, or snow mobile only in the winter. We don't really have adds like that here.

Yes it is a beautiful state but you really have to be able to tolerate extermes. Winter can be -40F real temp. (not including wind)and summer can be 100+F real temp.

My problem is I work outside and the cold is just as bad as the heat....I hate both....70s would be lovely!

I'm about 100 miles from Kemah, straight up Highway 146. Nice hot gooey atmosphere here too.

I hear you on the extremes... I remember one year that the lows for the day (for about a week straight) were still in the 80's, highs above 100. With no AC, the house was uncomfortably warm. Then the winter when it was -40 (not including wind chill) and we woke up to a house that was 40 degrees inside because overnight the furnace vent froze so the heat shut off (better than it not shutting off and not waking up, huh?)

DH once told me that when we are both retired, he wants to move somewhere warmer. I told him I'll write...
