Thank you very much! We think so - and she's the one that gets the most compliments when people visit - think it's the great coloring - she sure stands out! She's our favorite of the bunch - loves to be held - my daughter carries her around under her arm and she'll hop right up on your lap if you've got a treat.

Nothing sad about it!

Easter Eggers will most likely lay green or blue eggs (but maybe brown), they'll start earlier than a pure Ameraucana, and probably lay more and bigger eggs. Assuming you're hoping for lots of big pretty eggs for you and your family, you're in luck! And a pretty bird to boot.

Me too, thinks she is gorgeous!

Which hatchery did she come from?????????

She is laying beautiful eggs! She is probably an Easter Egger. Most places advertise their EEs as Ameraucanas. It is a bit pathetic that they haven't learned to label them as what they really are.
She is a lovely girl though, as are both of the others.

The middle one is and Easter Egger. Normally hatcheries and feed stores sell them telling you that they are Ameraucanas, but they are actually only part Amerucana. They still normally lay green eggs, though! And they are beautiful birds!

We bought 4 chicks from the feed store in Carmichael last April. Two SLW's and two "Americaunas" that I learned are really EE's. Great backyard flock. The EE's lay very cool greenish eggs that amaze people who've only seen white or brown eggs.

Of the 6 chicks we started out with, 2 EEs, 2 BR, 2 BO we still have the EEs. They are 8+ yo and still laying. They survived chickhood, sudden death, 'coons and hawks. Hardy, healthy and smart!

that's awesome that they are 8 and still laying. I am so not looking forward to the age of bird that egg production stops

Poor girls will be retired to the yard, not the dinner table. I may be a chef, but I can barely kill a darn spider - yeah I know sissy
