Max, I have pullets with no coppering on them too. They are genetically Copper Black, even though the copper is masked. If your hen came from a coppered flock, she is a copper black. If you ever get lucky enough to get a copper black rooster to put with her, some of her eggs will hatch out copper black marans with good copper color. Way to go on getting a nice hen!
