Thanks for responding...this gives us plenty of things to look at. You may be onto something with the heat distribution...both the viable eggs are in the upper left quadrant. I think I will try to find some of the old standard oral glass thermometers to place around in the bator...already looked at WM and they don't have them at our store...will look on line.

Maybe call the poultry lab and see if they could check some of your egg for bacteria or ????

Kathy....what a lot of helpful information....! I'm overwhelmed. I always knew research (and how to do it) is the key to most problems. We certainly have some places to go now. Thanks for taking the time to provide this information and the referral.
