My work has said that if you have respiratory sickness of any sort to stay home and if you don't they may send you home. They do require a doctors note but strongly suggest you use the online doctor thing to get the doctors note rather than go somewhere and get sick / get others sick. They did say that the attendance policy will not be in effect (so you won't get fired) but no mention of taking vacation verses paid time off or what. I assume they will require us to use vacation or unpaid leave. For me that isn't a big issue, I have over a month of vacation accrued that I can use if needed but I am aware that others don't have that luxury.
One of the ladies at work is pissed because we are all kind of joking around about it, but she has sickly parents that have gone into self imposed isolation so she can't go see them so she's mad at all of us.
Yes, people die, old people die... You may be able to keep them alive through this bug, but her mother has leukemia and the lady I work with is middle aged so her mom is probably in her 80's or 90's.... probably not going to keep them alive that much longer either way....
Me, I'm probably not going to get lucky enough to get the bug...
