We Quit Cigarettes

Now y'all know that the Princess has to be a Bad A to have survived me - here's more proof - she kept a pack in the house when she quit. I agree with cindy ditch the butts, even though I am willing to bet that WV/VW is just as Bad A. :p

I better give Ladder Man your phone number.

Seriously, speaking of packs, I bought a different brand, just so I’d hate them.

@webbysmeme I believe in and utilize prayer, but sometimes scientific/medical help is also needed. I'm with @aart contact your doctor or call a local AA phone number for advice/direction. Protect yourself. You have taken on a monumental task and are heavy on my mind.
I have called my dr several times, can't get in. And I won't go back to the one that has done this to me. I'm waiting on my ride to town. I may just disappear in a minute, but I'll be back.Thank you for thinking about me.

So today is Stop-Day. I had a half a smoke this morning, so I could say my last cigarette was on Mom’s birthday. I’m gonna win this time! Half a cigarette in 6 hours is already an accomplishment, right?
I shared this via PM with Kiki on sunday morning.... a week ago, when I happened across this thread.

so without further adue:

I learned some 25-30 years ago about a odd effect tobacco has on the body. I've shared this detail with several friends, a few family members, & some aquaintances over the years. It's seemed to vary in scale to help folks on this journey.
B vitamins are specifically drained from the body for some odd reason. So by super charging their system ( my gearheaded g33ky pov) in preparation to quiting they start taking the B's or B-complex vitamins. It has helped a majority of those I know during the quiting phase, even some have said it helped when they "fell off the wagon" to get back on the wagon. A few folks had such a hard time that they found they finally found success to take triple the recommended doses during the week or so before quiting and the month-ish of stopping then they tapered back .... Everyone was different.

Congrats on the effort & progress.
I found out in the Navy I'm alergic to the stuff & it's smoke too. So an added bit of my history on your Mom's birthday; my Mom died in December of '06 from Non-smokers lung cancer. We had about 6 months with her after discovery.

You too can succeed. We are human. We make mistakes. Acknowledge the big picture and don't worry about falling down along the way. Just get up, dust yourself off and start "walking" again. The guilt complex, the F.E.A.R. and the anxiety are not the boss of you.

/ F.E.A.R. = false evidence appearing real

@Sapphir Seabrite I'm so crazy, I just thanked ShannoR for telling me how to do this @ thing'🙄. I was confused last night. Sorry.😘 I didn't sleep last night. I know you all think I'm crazy . I think I'm crazy.😘
Don't worry -- I'm crazy, too!
Kidding, I know what you mean.
I think that we all go a little crazy sometimes, especially when we're dealing with a lot of stuff in our lives -- like, for example, quitting a whole bunch of medication at once, cold turkey. But it'll pass, just like your sweating and itching. Have faith, and pray for strength and perseverance. You're a strong person, Webby -- you can get through this. And you will!
Also, don't worry; we don't think that you're not crazy (right, guys?).
And if anyone here does think that, well... I have some very loud guineas. Very loud. That's all that I'll say.
Keep it up, Webby! :hugs

@webbysmeme , Meditation isn't as easy as it sounds. It's a skillset for our unruly brains. It takes time and effort to learn it, but it may well help you. Go to your play store or app store on your phone/tablet and search "smiling mind". It's one of the few "free" apps that are actually free to use and learn with nothing to buy. I think it's really helpful.
Your brain should be your servant, not the other way around. Meditation is difficult (which is why I do yoga instead, the mind body connection helps) but it is worth it to develop the ability to control your mind. With that said, I truly have no idea what you are going through or what kind of issues you are experiencing. Hoping you can work through this, @webbysmeme

Be careful. You don't need the Wuhan flu on top of everything else.

(Speaking of being careful when going out, did anyone else stay home from church today due to the virus?)
If I did attend church, I would have stayed home.
I did not attend a memorial service yesterday for the same reason,
meditative walk in the woods stood in good stead.

BTW @Sapphire Sebright GIF avatars usually annoy the heck outta me,
but yours is hilarious :gig

Agreed; be careful, Webby.

Alright, I'm gonna log off for a while and try to make some pavlova shells. See you guys in a while -- I'll let you know how it went.
@WVduckchick, good luck! You can do this!

I cancelled my art group for Monday. It's just three ladies this time of year, but we go out after for lunch, it's a long drive to town... the other two are pretty active socially. DH has his son's bone marrow in him--it's very good bone marrow, but his doc wants him careful anyway. In good conscience I just can't go.

We don't go to church or any large gatherings anyway--because of the BM transplant. But yes, we'd have stayed home In any case. If you pick this virus up, you yourself may never know, but you could unbeknownst to you pass it to the waitress at that cute little sandwich shop; she may be stopping on her way home next week sometime to bring her grandpa a few things from the grocery store and next thing you know (though you probably never will know) you're indirectly the cause of her grandpa's being in ICU fighting for his life. I know this is hard on people, but things do get hard sometimes.

I kept an open pack in my house when I quit too. I put them away where I couldn't grab them on accident, but I kept them there. For me it was more of a deterrent because if I broke down & took one, it would be an old, stale one which is far less appealing than a fresh new pack. That's just the way my mind is programmed. Honestly, they're still here. What could be more nasty than tobacco that's been sitting in the back of a drawer for 2.5 decades?🤢 🤮
