We Quit Cigarettes

I shared this via PM with Kiki on sunday morning.... a week ago, when I happened across this thread.

so without further adue:

I learned some 25-30 years ago about a odd effect tobacco has on the body. I've shared this detail with several friends, a few family members, & some aquaintances over the years. It's seemed to vary in scale to help folks on this journey.
B vitamins are specifically drained from the body for some odd reason. So by super charging their system ( my gearheaded g33ky pov) in preparation to quiting they start taking the B's or B-complex vitamins. It has helped a majority of those I know during the quiting phase, even some have said it helped when they "fell off the wagon" to get back on the wagon. A few folks had such a hard time that they found they finally found success to take triple the recommended doses during the week or so before quiting and the month-ish of stopping then they tapered back .... Everyone was different.

Congrats on the effort & progress.
I found out in the Navy I'm alergic to the stuff & it's smoke too. So an added bit of my history on your Mom's birthday; my Mom died in December of '06 from Non-smokers lung cancer. We had about 6 months with her after discovery.

You too can succeed. We are human. We make mistakes. Acknowledge the big picture and don't worry about falling down along the way. Just get up, dust yourself off and start "walking" again. The guilt complex, the F.E.A.R. and the anxiety are not the boss of you.

/ F.E.A.R. = false evidence appearing real
Good stuff. Thank you.
Thanks also for sharing about your mom. Non-smokers cancer, dang! My mom had breast cancer first, but kicked it for 10 years, before developing liver/colon cancer which finally took her from me, 6 years ago.

Happy Birthday to your mom WV. I agree, she would be very proud of you! :hugsBest Present EVER!!! You've got this girl!!!!:hugs

Thanks Roomy! Glad to have you in my corner. :hugs

OK, don't get on my case if you don't like what you hear like some are doing on another thread.

Some researchers at the University of South Carolina just did a study and found that smokers have a significantly increased ACE2 expression in the lungs, which is the enzyme that the coronavirus attaches to in order to infect lung cells. So the possibility exists that smokers are more susceptible to infection from this virus.

like Greta Thunberg; the girl can't be more than sixteen (no, wait, she's seventeen) and yet look at what's been done to her! She should be in school, spending time with friends, not speaking in front of the freaking United Nations about climate change. It's disgusting and awful.
This is kinda sad. I can see it in her eyes...

Interesting, and very believable. Being a respiratory virus, any way you look at it smoking will make it harder for your body to fight the virus.
