Unplug the puter.I need to sleep, I've been awake since yesterday afternoon.
Are you bragging?I need to sleep, I've been awake since yesterday afternoon.
You can sometimes suffer hallucinations when withdrawing from alcohol--maybe from other drugs as well. I wouldn't be at all surprised. At least you recognize them for what they are. Some people believe them to be real.
All these substances are poisons that alter the functions of our bodies--all of them. That's why they work. It's also why people take them recreationally. Those that alter our perception of reality slightly can sometimes alter it drastically in larger amounts. They're processed through the liver and kidneys and there's only so much work these organs can get through in a day. As the extra poisons your body has been socking away in fat cells and wherever else it puts things to process later, come out, they will often cause the kinds of symptoms you've been experiencing, including hallucinations.
I'm no chemical dependency expert, but the way I understand it, many of these drugs also take the place of your body's normal means of making you feel good (such as producing dopamine). When you stop, it can take some time for your body to tool up and get back into production. Parkinsons disease can sometimes come with hallucinations--maybe because of the lack of dopamine? I'm guessing there, but the point is--drugs including alcohol poison you. When you're taking them, your liver and kidneys are up to their little ears in work so a lot of those chemicals get stored. They're coming out now and being dealt with.
Drink lots of water. Get some gentle exercise in, and some sunshine on your skin if you can stand it. (You may be photophobic, so be careful with that until your system is fully clean.) Stay away from junk food and sugar. Your system has enough to deal with. Drink lots of water. Then drink some more. Don't make yourself uncomfortable, but do stay well hydrated. Eat light, nutritious foods... things that are easy on your digestive system. Stay away from sugary stuff. Probably best to avoid overdoing it with coffee, too.
You are doing phenomenally. I almost can't believe how well you're doing. You've taken on an incredibly difficult task and you are DOING it. I can't possibly express to you the depth of my admiration. Keep it up. You're gonna be the old hat gal next time, helping someone else out of the pit and into the freedom of a clean body and a clear mind. ❤❤❤
