We Quit Cigarettes

And come tomorrow morning, @NanaKat, there will be ten more pages to read... but, hey, you caught up! I didn't actually read the entire thread before jumping in, so I guess I cheated, heh.
A good night to you, too, NanaKat. See you tomorrow.
Well, I'm going to log off now. Great job making it through another day, everybody! And if you slipped up and smoked, drank, or did whatever it was you were trying not to do, don't worry -- you can try again! Tomorrow is a whole 'nother day, and a whole 'nother chance for you to succeed, so just do your best!
Good night, everybody, and sleep well! See you all tomorrow!

I know about roosters! I had a mean one. Had to shoot him! Never again! Unless I could raise it from the start. Maybe I could get him to love me like my girls do.
You might... from what I've read here, it seems most folks have better luck not getting familiar with their little cockerels so that the adult roos don't see them as a flock member. If that happens, the theory goes, the rooster will want to treat you like one of his hens or like a rival male. Either way, it can be a problem. The rooster, they admonish, must not see you as a chicken but as *other*--different, not of the flock, not a threat, not a creature he wants to mess with. I currently have four roosters. One has occasionally shown some agression but has always backed down when I approach him and walk "through" him. I haven't made pets of any of them.

If you are permitted to keep roosters where you live, and want to, you could consider keeping him at arm's length to guard against him loosing his sense that you are a different, more powerful being--not the sort he wants to mess with.

@webbysmeme -- how did your day go? How are you feeling?
I'm sorry, I didn't se this post until this morning. I had a rough morning! But it got better. Then late afternoon my thoughts were not right. I got confused. I don't know what's going on with me. I wish I could talk to my shrink! I've got to get back on some of my Meds.

I live way out in the country, no laws to break here. I'll have to do some research on roosters before I get another! I'm scared of them now!

Melatonin for kids? I've never heard of it before. I have heard a couple of adults tell me now, that the stuff gives them weird dreams. Not something I would want to do to my kids. And since neither of them really talks, they can't relate their experience to me.

Honestly, I would prefer to give my kids nothing. But both of them are pretty sick right now, one is on his prescription cough medicine and the other one is getting Benadryl for his snot nose and baby tylenol as needed. He's been running a fever off and on. Need to take younger one to see the doctor when the older one goes back to get his chest X ray monday.
You poor girl, I'm feeling for you. I can remember when my boy was 8 months old, he was so sick. My husband worked in the oilfield, and we moved around a lot . So we didn't have a doctor, he was running a temp of 103-104. I was 20 and didn't know much. I had to walk next door to use a phone for a taxi to take him to the ER. They would get his temp down and send me home. . The third time this happened I threw a big fit for another opinion! They did X-rays, they told me he had encephalitis (Sorry I can't spell that) they put him in the hospital still running test. Then they thought it was mengitis? I called my parents they came and got me and my sick baby 200 miles . We went strait to the hospital where they lived. They admitted him. It was pneumonia! I never went back to that husband‼️😂

Good morning @Kiki and everyone else.

@Kiki , welcome to day 27!

What's that hubby word you just said??

I get a break from one of the kids for a couple of days every week. I keep the little guy all the time though, unless I am in class. I don't really have any family here, had a couple of friends who were willing to help on occasion but they have both moved out of the area.
I just wrote you post about me when I was young. You sound a lot like me!
