We Quit Cigarettes

That is one wierd shell picture. I've done triple-taked it. Opened it for a larger scan & I keep "seeing" a shell inside another shell layer? I can't seem to get my mind's eye to not see it as such. Guess I'd better go to bed.

There are other pictures of it in the Balut thread. It certainly appears to have been a shell within a shell which is why it required assistance to hatch.

Could a shell from a previous hatched chick been jostled to "spoon" the unhatched egg and then dried in place? I've had that happen on some of my hatches, but usually only one half of a shell not both. Was there residue from hatching on the inside of the outer shell's membrane? Did the number of shells (including the double shell) removed equal the number of chicks?
