We Quit Cigarettes

I did not make it through today without smoking. I'll get back on the wagon, though.

This virus stuff has me scared shitless. And I'm starting to feel a little depressed, the projections look horrible for our country and the rest of the world. Hold your loved ones tight, friends.
:hugs

I hear ya. :hugs
I am avoiding the news and the incessant online crap and speculation, it helps.
So does this:

I really loved this photo!

When I went to Walmart pick up on Saturday the person that was doing it was telling me that people are treating her like she's not even human because of this whole virus thing.

My husband and I helped her load everything into the car and it took maybe a couple minutes to do. She was so grateful.

I even got a gift from them. It was snacks in a nice reusable bag, it also had an avocado ripen bag, and coupons.

Here -- I hope that this video will help calm you down (it takes a few minutes to get to the statistics, but please watch it all):

I do not know what political party you're in, and I am not trying to offend anyone or get into a debate when I say this, but it seems to be that Liberals (not saying that you are one) tend to follow the news a lot, and become frightened by what they see -- there's is pretty much no good news on the news, and the bad stuff tends to get a bit (or a lot) inflated.
Conservatives, on the other hand, tend to be more optimistic. (Key word for my descriptions of both parties: Tend. Not always, but the party as a whole, on average, for lack of a better word, tends to act like that -- there are optimistic Liberals, and there are pessimistic Conservatives).
The thing is, this virus is recent. We don't know everything about it, and can only make educated guesses on how things will turn out. We are still learning about this, and we cannot predict what will happen.
The more that we analyze the information that we have, however, the better we can guess what will and what will not happen -- and there's more information coming in by the day, and the more info we have, the more that there is to analyze, and the more there is to go off of when we attempt to predict what will happen in the future. Thus, while it may be good to acknowledge the early predictions and to follow the rules set in place (such as social distancing) believing it wholeheartedly when there is so little information on which to base the prediction can needlessly cause fright and stress.
Be careful, take care of yourself, and just stay calm.
Sorry about the massive post, by the way, and I am sorry if I offended anyone. I am not saying that the coronavirus isn't bad, I am merely saying that as of right now, there is insufficient data to use to make completely accurate predictions, and thus we should be careful of which predictions we choose to believe in completely. Use caution, maybe do some research of your own, and then make your choice.
Okay, tangent over.
Good luck, ShannonR -- you can get through this. :hugs
Stay safe, everybody!

Okay, I took time to read and finally catch up today!
Died laughing at the names of chickens!
Will add Herpes to one of those lists. Brother named his cat that because her pees in the corner instead of her box. Friend greeted him in a restaurant with "Hey H, do you still have herpes?"

Had a fairly good day, spent some time with kids getting them some sunshine and fresh air at the farm today.
I found an interesting artifact (place sits on top of an old native American settlement) that I can't identify. A little green granite stone, nearly perfect circle shape with uniform thickness all the way around. It's maybe the size of a nickel, but thicker. I have been puzzling over that and doing some research. Have not found an answer as to what it is yet, possibly a game piece.
It could be an unfinished bead or decorative stone for a garment....

Neither can I, and I didn't just quit nicotine. Maybe it's the moon ?
I even ate breakfast today - I never have breakfast. So far since supper I have had a piece of lemon meringue pie, and am now attacking some vanilla ice cream.
You made this diabetic swoon!

You voice some of the same logical responses that my BIL voiced just this past week. He is in biologic/genomic research and lives in California. We have a lot to learn about this virus.

I'm on Day 74, 22 hrs. I am not on daily, so when I responded it may have been a day or so after. I quit January 15th! WooooHooo 🎊🎉. Whomever wants to quit do it, you will have withdrawals but to breathe better, taste food and not have that SMELL....WE really stink...really. Ugh.
You can do it!,,
Are you stopping the Chantix at the 3 month mark?
