I need a kick in the ass and some motivation. I'm finished with this semester!!!! Problem is, the semester isn't finished with me. I got the hardest end of term project done, still have two more to go. And the final exams next week, blehh.
I briefly fell off the wagon yesterday, back on the no smoking wagon today. My tumbles from the wagon have become far less frequent, but still happening.
You will unless u take some precautions;
We have a little control center in our head which does not like to hear the words...."I will never have another cigarette again".......that is a no no and it responds with it's great might to defeat you.
In addition to all the basic things we are told not to do...i.e....no alcohol, no hot spices, exercise, etc, my 4 year success story was greatly assisted by treating the demands with........" well I won't have a cigarette now but....this evening after dinner (or other desiring times) I will have a nice fresh cigarette". I assure you when the time arrives that little center will remind you that it is time.
Re-dedicate yourself to a future time to have a cigarette but, not at that time....maybe with coffee in the morning. Follow that thru....extending the time of a longer duration as time passes. Example...:
August 8th 2020 is my 4th anniversary...as of right now I plan to have a nice fresh cigarette in the evening in the swing on the front porch with a cold glass of iced tea. Right now all is quiet in the demand column.
On August 9th 2020, ask me how much i enjoyed it. LOL
I have a friend who quit 33 years ago and we talk a couple times a year about the success story as we acknowledge an occasional desire is there.
You can do it...with some simple rules...no one is more addicted than I was.
...and oh yeah....in your daily prayers....ask God for help.
