We think my chicken has bumblefoot but it does not seem to be healing well.

We noticed our chicken was limping and that her foot was swollen and red- after doing some research it appeared to be bumblefoot. The bottom of her foot is swollen, but in between her toes was red and sort of crusted. We soaked the foot in epsom salts, put Neosporin on the red area, and bandaged the foot. After doing this twice (every 2 days), the top of the foot finally had puss coming out, so we squeezed the foot until it appeared that all of the puss we could get was out. We put iodine solution over the wound, put more Neosporin on, and then bandaged it. That was two days ago, and today we checked on the foot and there does not appear to be any more puss (we soaked and squeezed the wound), but the foot is still extremely swollen and red. I am attaching photos of what the wound looks like now, if anyone has any suggestions of what else this could be or if this might be the normal healing process of bumblefoot, etc. The bottom of her foot is also still very swollen, but even after pressing on there, nothing came out of the wound on the top.

Sometimes with bumbles, there is a build up of hard, cheesy matter in the wound.
Continue with the abx - into the hole if you can. It may heal spontaneously, but you may have a re-occurence of the bumble.
The redness doesn't seem too bad right now, but if it starts creeping up the leg, you may need stronger abx.
Keep us posted, :)

that cheesy stuff coming out of the foot, you should scrape it out. you contently squeezing on he foot might be making it more irritated. you said you squeezed out puss, did any cheesy stuff come out then? if in a few days if it still looks bad you should try cutting the wound open a little and getting as much foot cheese (that is what I like to call it) out. I have done this procedure often on my chickens and it has always worked. you are doing everything right. notify me if there are anymore problems👍.
