We were adopted by a chicken while on vacation!

Can anyone give me an idea of what type chicken this is? We arrived home tonight from a vacation and found him/her perched above our front door. He/she is very sweet. We have six 1 1/2 year old black austrolorps, but the new chicken wasn't in the coop with them. Ideas? Rooster?
