Weak Day old chick- Abandoned by mother.

Hello Everyone.
I have a day old chick that the mother has abandoned. The hen had pecked the chick until near death.The chick is very weak, and has started throwing up all water given. We stayed up through the night holding the chick. Any thing that can help give the chick energy or help give a change of life?

I am new to being a chick parent but in general when an animal abandons, tries or kills its young its because something is most likely wrong with the little one.
If the chick is expelling even the water you are trying to feed it,Im thinking either the mother knew or made certain that the chick wasnt going to survive,Im sorry to say.

When I took in my rejected chick I gave her sugar water and made a plain scrambled egg and smashed it up and hand fed it to her. At first just a water bottle cap full.
But she did not have trouble digesting anything.

First time Broody Hens can kill the first hatch because she doesn't understand what's going on. Excellent at setting eggs but gets nervous when the eggs peep and begin to hatch...
