LOL!!! When I told my DH(P@P@2four) he would have to help me AI the turkeys--I asked him for rubber gloves, lubricant, and some Barry White--he looked right at me and said, "They're gonna taste good on T-giving!!!" lol

They look like BBWs, but can anyone tell if perchance they might be one of the heritage white breeds, like Midgets or Beltsvilles?

By the way, your store selling you BBWs instead of Narragansetts is liking selling you a Chevy and telling you it's a Lambrogini (sp?).

Totally different birds, different outcome, different methods of raising them. I'd be mad too.

There are 3 heritage breed whites, as chickenannie posted, Midget White, Beltsville, and the third is Holland. I'd ask the place where you bought them, what white breeds they had gotten in, before telling them there's a problem. If they only had BBW's then you have your answer. I'd demand a refund or at least the cost difference. Heritage breeds usually cost a lot more than the BB's.

If they aren't a heritage breed, I'd try to swap them for Royal Palms of the same age. You could pay the difference if they are more expensive or get slightly younger ones as a straight swap.

they look just like my turkeys and the guy said they where heritage birds that can naturally produce. he didnt say what kind of heritage. so are there heritage birds that look like these because I let them live to breed?

They seem a little small to be a BBW. Mine were 30+ lbs at 5 months. I would bet on a heritage white breed. It definately looks like one of each sex too.

BTW, I hatched a bunch this year. Some of my Royal Palms have no black at all and have only tan markings. There could be differences in coloring in the breed. Maybe they are not pure breed and are a throw back to the mix.

The worker of the store is going to talk to the owner of the store about what they could do for me.

Come to find out I am not the only one that got the wrong ones.

So I let you know what happens.
