I asked this question already on this forum but got no answers. How much weight should a silkie egg lose during incubation? I read somewhere about percentage of weight loss, but I couldn't find it again

Good morning. :frow

I believe the answer for all eggs not just Silkies is 12-14%. Please confirm this yourself though as it has been a while since I did that research.

Now you will be the one answering all the hatching questions! ;)

I hatched probably 100 or so Silkie chicks this past year. They were treated and hatched in the same fashion as EVERY other egg or breed. Humidity kept around 40-45 days 1-18 worked perfectly well. I never weighed them or marked air cells except right before lock down to ensure the lowest point was facing up.

Happy hatching! :fl:jumpy:jumpy
