Weird egg. Are we unique or simply going parent-crazy?

The stryofoam in the egg.

I have only found scientific research that plastic-residue, in their tiniest forms, more on hormonal level, can end in eggs through the blood. in Stormbirds. I don't think styrofoam bubbles can travel through blood. It would clot duck artieries you would think. It would clot our arteries.

I believe the only possibility is that the styro pellets somehow went from the cloaca(after traveling thru the digestive tract) up into the reproductive tract...maybe assisted by being mated?

They mate each other; but it are all females.

Hmmm...then no penetration to push styro beads inside.

They do the whole thing like it should go when one was a male. Including the neck/head/drowning thing and the flirting and the uuh...noises. I'm not sure what you mean with 'touch butts' but they do everything like a 'succesfull mating' would go. Including shaking. The egg was from a top. Not a bottom-duck. If that changes anything.
I think I have a movie from it somewhere. I will upload it when I can find out how to do that.

Guess I was thinking more of chickens doing the 'cloacal kiss'.
Not really sure about ducks...who knows how the sytro beads got into the egg tract

I just watched some slow-motion movies about 'cloacal kiss' (to no suprise it is also a name of a metal band). And they do that.

Not sure that would work as well to transfer styro beads with a duck as with a chicken because the sperm is deposited way further in with a duck...
