Weird hen behavior

I recently rehomed my roos....my SLW squats for me and my little boy, but the other hens squat to her...she is my dominant hen, but knows I am in charge! lol....its just show submission, either to you or to a roo....

My barred rock who didn't used to like being picked up all the sudden yesterday kept coming in front of me spreading her wings in that same squatting manner!!! the others do it when I am going to pick them up which she never wanted before!! never the less I pick her up carry her around a minute as soon as I put her down she does it again!!! why the change of heart why is she all the sudden so needy?? she wouldn't even come near me before she would run away!!!

How old is she? She looks mature, so I'm with the majority here and think its a mating thing, saying "Yes" to a male to mate with her. I would usually just pet mine down the back, instead of picking them up, but it does help when you need to pick them up and they squat first! lol

Hens do enjoy the mating too!

is it weird that all my birds follow me all the time even when i am mowing! but yesterday my silkie breeded can over to tell me what was what on hen and rooster front and you would know I even have know i had a bird???!!!!

They follow the lawn mower because it stirs up the bugs! And they like the clippings.

Sometimes they like people, and sometimes they hide. Just depends on the birds. But they do recognize particular humans!

I know that's for sure every time I open the back door its like that dog food commercial where the heard of dogs come running after you!! lol sorry they are funny I am the only one that feeds the or maybe they get to much attention!!!

Shoot, mine chase me to the scratch barrel and all around the yard while I'm tossing scratch in other pens! (only let certain sets out at different times). Worse than the dogs when I have treats!! :D
