WEIRD or ODD Eggs pics!!!! :)

Pics
Sooo back to weird egg pics.
Get this egg consistently, still don't know which hen is laying it.
Can't catch her at it, if and when I do I'll band her and she'll become soup...
...and it will be interesting to see if there any obvious malformation of her reproductive system.

Shell is always crumpled/creased, always very thin, and often broken in nest.
Coloration varies but always different bands and sections of color and texture.
Insides are usually fine, I eat them myself - too fragile and 'ugly' to sell, but yesterday found an odd 'blood spot'(?).

Who knows what her deal is<shrugs>..have had funky layers in the past.

Thought I'd post it here for posterity.

I get similar eggs but they are few and far between.

This is the stuff I use. GOOD news, she was wandering around today! No egg from her.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Dogs are loose so cannot toss her into the woods, once she's bled out. This time of year, may be able to toss her off on main road, AWAY from folks who have sheep, goats, livestock. Her body would lure coyotes to some poor folk's meat & tatters...

As DRY as it's been NOT going to start a fire, & I haven't a barrel. KNOW local coyotes, my dogs would likely dig her up...

I never had much luck with the Red Lake so I don't use this because I think it has a lot of clay. I use the white Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade.

If you look closely at the ingredients on that package I think you'll find it's mostly clays(Calcium Bentonite)...and only a small part DE.
Even 100% DE will not kill a mite or lice infestation.

Thanks,LOADS hon. Will look for it at TSC. Learn something NEW every Day!

Quote: Generally withdrawal time on anything approved for poultry will be included somewhere on the label. That being said, there is no withdrawal time for permethrin! You can eat the eggs, washing is of course recommended.

Recommended treatment with Permethrin is bird dusting (or BD), here is a pamphlet about controlling mites in your flock

Ok y'all. New to having chickens (at least as an adult.) I got a completely soft egg today and looks to have ALOT of blood inside. My girls have 24/7 pellets and oyster but they don't seem to be eating the oyster shells out of the feeder as much even though they eat the pellets out of the feeder right next to it. They get daily treats of scratch grains and meelworms with grit as well. Am I doing anything wrong?

For some reason it won't let me upload the pic.
Might be because you need something like 10 posts before you can attach pics?
Small blood spots are pretty common, a lot of blood is not unheard of....
.....both caused by broken blood vessels along the way, some larger than others.

Happening once or twice is not something to be too alarmed about,
(tho it IS alarming and will make you break eggs into a separate dish one at a time instead of directly into pan or recipe for quite awhile)
if it continues you'll need to find the bird that's laying them and maybe isolate her as a first step, then investigate causes.

I had one this summer...laid 4 pretty bloody eggs, all found by the same customer.
After the third I told her to save egg shell and contents so I could pinpoint who was laying them...then it stopped, never happened again.
