The number of people that go " wait, you don't need a rooster for the hens to lay eggs!?" is remarkable.

Hah! I have a story for this one as well. Another time I had someone over and I was showing them my chickens. I then asked them if they wanted any eggs.
They replied: 'Wait. Eggs from your chickens? But I didn't see any roosters.'
Me: 'I'm sorry, what do you mean?'
Other person: "Well, you know, you need a rooster to have eggs."
Me: "No, you don't. See? I have some eggs in my egg basket'
Other person: "You just got that from someone who has a rooster, didn't you?"

OH, I dunno... when they figure out how to transfer brains from one creature to the next.
Should be sometime in the next century or two, probably after they figure out those hover cars we were promised in the 60s.
