Weird things only poultry people get.

Dang didn't know it was that easy. My last batch I sit over holding a hair drier on them.
These are some hybrid breads. Bonnie Planrs and Hoover’s Hatchery went into together to produce such a specimen. I’ve got inside access to the goods! Now just so kindly provide me with your bank account info, SS# and DOB and I’ll get e transaction started! They’ll be shipped from North Korea but it’s TOTALLY legit!! Lol!

Well, you didn't include the fact there are actually roosters that are jerks, both to their hens and to their human keepers. I happen to have two lovely gentlemen right now, but in ten years I have had a couple that were not, and I don't put up with the ones that are not. I had one roo that scalped a hen, so he was history. And I had one that flogged my Kid, so I took over the chicken chores to see if it was a fluke or if I could manage him. He then seriously hurt me after attacking me from the rear for no reason, so.... history for him, too. There are plenty of good roosters, so I see no need to tolerate a vicious, dangerous or unpredictable bird. The BJG cockerel I have coming up now shows all the signs of being a real keeper, even though he is probably at his most hormonal stage right now. And my 2-yo EE mutt is a keeper, too. Roos may have a "bad rep," but it isn't entirely undeserved.
I think it’s a topic totally based on experience. I’ve had more aggressive hens than roosters, 100%. Because I’ve never had a mean rooster. All of mine have been gentlemen, and I haven’t even hand raised them all. I’ve gotten a rooster in the midst of rooster puberty (lol) and he was fine, I’ve bought a full grown rooster that came with a bit of a temper and he is lovely now , I call him my armpit rooster because he’ll just happily sit in my armpit as long as he can see his girls. I would love to see a thread on this!!!

You're right, this needs to be another thread, but I love your term armpit rooster! 😆. Incidentally, I do not hand raise my chickens either. I let the older flock members do it.

I have hand raised three, and am in the process of hand raising two more. Hold ‘em if they give ya sass!! I once heard a person on here say “watch a movie with your rooster” and that’s what I tell people now:lau
I watched 12 seasons of The Simpsons with my cockerel, does that count as a movie?
