Weird things only poultry people get.

I like eating outside, but my birds are always trying to steal my meal! And they'll drink from my cup while I'm defending the food!
Especially Poppy -- she's a nervous one, the poor thing, and I think that the others keep scaring her away from the feed.
Sweet girl, except for when she's tasting my limbs -- even then, she's just curious and hungry. I often bring her inside for special treats, so that the others can't scare her away and steal the food.
Love the name! One of my girls name is Poppie for the flower!

I have so many stories XD

People ask why my chickens lay blue eggs... I say that Robins lay blue eggs too XD

I've had some kids come over and ask if they can hold chickens, I say that they can hold them if they can catch them XD XD... ten minutes later they've given up. I walk over and grab the one they were trying to get and hand it to them. They look at me and are amazed. XD

Love my roos, bad ones go, nice ones stay. Only had one bad one in 8 years. Got a bunch of cockerels that think they are hot stuff right now... ladies are having none of it.

Made a friend about a year ago, she didn't like chickens. Since then I have converted her. She wants chickens so bad LOL. Cant have any because of the city she loves in. I was sending her pictures of birds online. She texted me back and went: That's such a pretty rooster!
I was so proud that she could tell the difference. I have taught her well. :)

I am loving this thread. XD

I think my favorite is: So do roosters lay eggs too?

But close runner up is:
If you eat fresh eggs straight from the chicken, how do you know there isn't a baby chick inside it?
Because I don't have a rooster. You know the ones from the store came out of a chicken too, right?
The rooster laying an egg thing, I get people asking me all the time when I’ll get milk from my Holstein. Who is clearly male. A castrated male so he can’t even produce milk by proxy. 🤦‍♀️

I have 3 ee's and someone got my eggs as a gift and asked why are they blue. I said thats the color egg they lay. They said oh okay are the yolks blue? Are the edible or decor?

I just :lau
One year, when I had lots of different breeds, my wife, kids and I went to her parent's house for the obligatory Easter celebration. Rather than bringing dyed eggs, I brought a collection of my birds' eggs. Between white, beige, tan, brown, various shades of dark brown, green etc., I showed the carton around and said, "Look how I dyed my Easter eggs." It took everyone a while to realize they weren't dyed. My wife's niece who was almost 20 said, "what is wrong with the green ones?" Are they safe to eat?
