Those birds (especially the big, red roo) are beautiful!
I had a hatch of mixed orpingtons (the lady I got the eggs from had only orpingtons---black, lavender, buff, etc.) on July 1. One of the chicks looks like a huge, fluffy robin, and another looks like it has yellow/red and blue barring on it's face and head, and then blue/black/ white barring on its body. I don't know how that can be if the birds were pure, but I guess the originals might have been from a hatchery with some degree of mix to them. Interesting to see these pictures.
I have a cuckoo maran rooster, and two hens, as well as english cuckoos...
I have three chicks, 1 seems to be PB Cuckoo maran, the other is not, it is a Jaerhon/cuckoo cross. Jaerhons have barring.... The third is too skittish to get a good look at yet.
BUT all three have a yellow spot on their heads..
Does that mean roos??
