Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I'm home... It went well, no issues.
And I kept it together....
Glad everyone behaved themselves - and you were able to pull through okay, but I known it wasn't the easiest thing. :hugs

I was reminded of my cousin's wedding - as we were leaving, E said, "You think it might not be the best sign when the pastor is giving marriage counseling during the wedding?"
Some, you think won't succeed, do great... Some you think we're a match made in heaven, not so great. Go figure.

Good job, Mama. :hugs
:hugs it was tough...

You really never know. And I hope they succeed... Its just hard to see it happening knowing the history.:(
The service was nice and the preach kept it short and sweet and basic. And I think it was appropriate since he doesn't know either of them from Adams house cat.. but still, he did good.

This morning was pretty productive on the chicken front.
First was the "Crum, the humidity dropped last night" assisted hatches of three very stuck chicks.
While they were drying off, I gathered up the roosters for the swap and did all the poop, feeders, waterers, etc...
Got all cleaned up and vaccinated all the new littles. It's definitely getting more routine now.
Packaged a set of SB eggs to ship.
Loaded roosters in the car (had to hold one in my lap - too much testosterone going on in the cage.)
Sold said roosters before even turning off the car engine.
Took eggs to the post office.
Whew.
The rest of the day I ran (ugh, first "hot" run of the year 85° - made 6 miles feel like 60) and napped. :)

Oh heavens... You'll sleep good tonight after all of that today! :)

I got tired just reading all that!

Wait until they're fully feathered. I first tried introducing Lacie to a juvenile buff goose who was still very obviously a baby, no feathers, and she wanted no part of her and was actually aggressive towards her.

But when I bought the two older sisters who were fully feathered and pretty much fully grown, she wasn't aggressive and within a couple days they were getting along well.

I took the duo that I kept from my last hatch outside today. they were peeping, and Lexi was trying to find them, but she couldn't get to them, so I figured I'd try an introduction.
She wasn't too mean to them, but they didn't follow her around, so no adoption there.
But the duo stayed in the big duck pen all day without incident.

Dd1 just called. Her CT was good. So they think it's the weather and allergies and stress kicking up the migraines.
She went last night for the piercing and had a migraine when she went and 10 minutes after the piercing the migraine was gone.. no meds at all!
:celebrate
I think I'm gonna have it done.:)
Ok I'm out now...:frow

AWESOME!! :clap
Glad everything went well today. :hugs

I did some pen swapping. Moved a cockerel out of one pen, was going to cull him, and hubby talked me out of it! :he
He said "why kill him just because you don't need him...? that's mean"

Also got my temporary pen taken down, didn't get it put back together for the BCMs. We decided to go ahead and get the stuff for the permanent addition, instead of doing another temporary thing. :yesss:

And Lexi lost another baby today. One died on like day 2. Got too cold. Today I did a head count, one was missing, heard it peeping... It was stuck in some chicken wire. No idea how long. It was limp. I warmed it up, laid it down to see if she would try to care for it, but she walked right by it. Brought it inside and it died a couple hours later. :(

On the hatching front... 7 (of 9) bantam cochins have hatched, they are done. 1 Cream legbar (male) hatched, still nothing in the others, but a few are still alive. Aurora said they hatch late sometimes, so I'll be patient.

oh, and Lexi took the babies for a swim. While I worried. But look how cute. Lol
