Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

One male has 6 wins and just needs 3 points for his title.  The other is just starting his career and has a second, two thirds and an NBQ in six trials.

Second day of our club trial just completed so I am climbing up on my lily pad for a little nap.

Nice!

KERsplash! Oops, didn't get you wet, did I? :D

Morgan's Canoe Livery. Oregonia, Ohio.

Sounds like fun. I'll have to look that place up.

We took a canoe/kayak trip once with out 2 boys when they were young teenagers. They would take you 3 miles or 7 miles up river and you made your way back down to the dock. The boys wanted to take the "long trip"... Its still a joke with us "let's take the looooonnnggg trip" now because we were begging for the dock after about 4 miles. :gig

What a night... ya'll ain't gonna believe this chit...

Late last night, we noticed some of the breeder flock of Calls was out of their pen... I've been free ranging them during the day with the rest, but putting them back up in their pen at night... this was after they had been put up... rounded them up and as I was doing the nose count, noticed that 1 was missing... my Snowy drake... that pair is super bonded and are never far from each other, so I knew something had happened... searched around and no luck... figured an owl had gotten him... took his girl inside with me, poor duck was traumatized so she stayed with me all night on towels... only dozed off and on but got woke up early by little ones yelling for water... refilling water at the sink and see a duck running up and down the fence in one of the chicken pens... hopes high, I go out to round him up... nope, it's one of my greys and her sister is in another pen freaked out too... d**n thing must have come back, couldn't figure out why since it already got its dinner... as I was putting up the 2nd grey, I heard a drake calling... from the opposite direction of the flock... I look and can't find him... then he comes into view... running down the side of the road coming home! First time ever, my drake got away from a predator and found his way home! Has at least one small wound on his right side, but will do a full check a little later... right now him and his happy mate are sitting quietly in a carrier together...

Needless to say, everyone will be moved to the main pen today, lol... close calls like that are few and far between...

Thank goodness! That's such a sweet story. Especially after what you went through with your little girl Spice.

@RavynFallen. So glad the ducks ar all ok. And that you found out before something tragic happened.

Canoeing was fun. DH was a bit off balance (of course he blamed DD & me....) so, the canoe got tipped over twice. The 2nd time we flipped, DH said he almost drown. Ironically, he is the only one of us that can swim. We all had life vests on and the water at that point was less than 5' deep. Somehow his legs got stuck in the canoe as it flipped over. I had grabbed DD, got her to shore, 5 steps away, noticed DH struggling, yanked the canoe off him and he was able to flip back over. Poor DH. After the 2nd time of him flipping us, my brother decided he would ride with DH and DD and I could ride with brother's GF. Luckily no one else got flipped over. And I learned something very valuable today. My life vest that I wear every time I am on the boat, IT WORKS!!!:D
