Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

yep... sounds good.

And I thought you couldn't legally ship dry ice?

Sure no one is close to you? Maybe ask the vet who is doing the AI. Maybe he/she has the shipping container that you can borrow, and ship to the far away company to get the semen shipped back...
for the horses we call it pop in a can.... I know one gal who had about ten straws for a particular stallion when he died suddenly the owner begged for a few of them back....

the collecting from horses  actually. .. pigs are the worst since you have to use your hand... at least back when I was in school... no one had invented a device that was as good as a hand. :idunno

Thanks :hugs

I have no clue what's wrong with it. The foot seems a little swollen. It can move it at the hip but cannot move it at the hock, though the tendon is in place. It seems to lack feeling in the toes, too.

I had to cull a bantam cochin last month. It's legs seemed fine, it just wouldn't walk upright. It was more a splay issue which usually fixes easily, but this one just never got the hang of keeping its leg under it. It was taped for like 2 weeks! Just seemed to have no strength in it.

diesel is running almost five bucks here..... :th
Holy S..T!! Dam oil companies have a license to steal, & have most folks by the short hairs. I'm not hit very hard by it (I drove less than 3k miles last year), but it impacts the average 9-5er terribly.

I'm done trying to help new breeders that need a lesson in genetics before they try to breed. In the AC thread I've been trying to help someone who just got chicks.

I gave some advice, they argued with me, I explained, and they came back with, I kid you not, pretty much the equivalent of 'it's dumb to cull a bird because they have undesirable traits'. Yeah, good luck breeding with that attitude.
:barnie dont let em get yer eye twitchin!
:hugs:hugs:hugs
I would like to put one on my dog to see what he's barking at all night.

When we were cleaning out our garden yesterday, DH found a nest with a couple of pheasant eggs on the east side next to the fence. Earlier, when we first went out there, a hen pheasant jumped and flew over the fence on the south side. I'm guessing it's the one that laid the eggs and she scooted from the nest to where she jumped. I didn't look today to see if she'd been back to lay another one. I don't know that she's going to want to nest there if we're working in the garden a lot. Plus the dog scaring her even though he's on the other side of the fence. It would be neat if she did hatch a clutch, though.

I panic if mine is 5 minutes late. We lost a neighbor/good friend in a car accident (about 25 years ago) and for the first year or so afterward, I'd flip out if he was even just a little late, or I didn't know where he was. He got in the habit of telling me he'd be home a half hour later than he planned, just so he could be "early" and not cause me to panic. I'm pretty much over it now... He still tells me he'll be later than he really plans.

So really they're just *hatching*, not really breeding.
Thats cool, she may set clutch there and hatch em. Never know. It may depend on how familiar and relaxed she is with that spot.. idk:confused:

I worry when he's late coming in from work, but only cos he's rarely late and calls when he knows hes gonna be....

G.N.O I can't find a thing to ware .:hitWorse I can't do a thing with my hair :th:lauTrying to get caught up with stuff that needs doing . Pushing to hard and feel it every day . I think I over hatched guessing around 250 have made :idunno. Cleaned the grow out yesterday well most of it. I finished it today . Got a hundred or so locked in the coop . they are 5 and 6 weeks old .Putting in fresh sand . That's almost done .Still small enough to go through the chain link. In the morning I have to line the run with wire cloth up at least two feet. I'm just trying to do to much . Only been dizzy a few times this week .Just from doing to much.:idunno Went to DIL's school yesterday picked up my incubator and brooder . Was there just in time for recess .I got to watch the students sitting on the football field, in a circle . The chicks were in the middle of the circle . They were holding them and the chicks were the most tame chicks I've ever seen . They were jumping up on the kids . They were smiling and laughing and loving it . Reminded me that the simplest things can bring lots of joy into someone's life sometimes . I did buy a camera . As soon as I figure out what all them buttons is for :idunnoI'll take some pictures :th.:frow

Reminds me of when my ex-FIL retired, he would go golfing every day, even in the snow. He said when he was working, he had to work when it snowed, so once retired, he could golf when it snowed too. :p

Seriously ?

Yes... I got paid for my work. I was in high demand. ;)

Proven sire ?
