Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Good morning, AngieMae, and welcome to the Pond. Good morning, Pond Scum.

:confused:Not me I'm the shy quiet type .;) :lau:lau:lau:frow:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugsAnd just look who posted it.:gig And well on the way to 250,000. I blame it all on Sour

Go ahead, K, I've got broad shoulders (though a bit stooped) and an overdeveloped sense of responsibility.

We plan on it as soon as funds are available to do so. But we have a lot to get done before the whole thing can get fenced. There is an Old condemned house that needs taken down. . tree work that needs done first. . etc. And you know ..again The funds. Lol.
Neighbors... Good ones are worth their weight in gold - bad ones can make life really hellish! I hope things settle down a bit for you on that front.

DH's kombucha craze is going to be the death of me. A bottle of it got too cold, froze in the fridge & shattered everywhere. :heMy whole kitchen smelled like vinegar all day yesterday & I couldn't figure out why. It took me forever, but I finally realized it was coming from the fridge. I started digging thru & kept finding chunks of sticky glass on the back end of all the shelves & still didn't know why. Stupid bottle was in the very back of the top rack so it spread far & wide when it blew. Luckily DH was in town & able to clean it up himself. If I'd had to do it, there would've been h*ll to pay & kombucha would've been banned from the house for life.

The embarrassing part is that I gave the neighbor a carton of eggs yesterday. They weren't near the mess & I made sure there was no glass, or kombucha residue on/in the carton just in case, but I bet it still smelled like vinegar.
Ugh. No bueno. Hopefully this incident doesn't lead your dh to say something like, "You know, we could avoid the glass bottles all together if we grew our own kombucha right here in our countertop!" :sick

The first gosling has hatched!

And now I'm going to bed :p Might have more when I get up in the afternoon.
So awesome! Congratulations! :clap

Morning all!! I’ve been somewhat lurking this thread for awhile..finally figured I’d say hello and introduce myself..names AngieMae 40 yrs old from Ohio and Texas I live in Ohio..kids grown and gone still have a almost 15 yr old but he lives with Daddy now, time for him to become a man..anyways I’m a huge animal lover and often get told how I’m an animal whisperer :lau but I just love em and have I guess patience :idunno..I’ve had many animals in my time from rats and ferrets to a cockatoo.. including a small farm years ago when I was married had chickens, rabbits, horses, some cows ,and always a pig or two.also hounds can’t forget the huntin dogs haha..I also love gardening and well pretty much anything outdoors camping, fishing, kayaking etc..I’ve always missed the “farm” life and swore one day I’d have it again..right now I just have my dog Baby she a Morkie and my two Pekins Zig and Zag.. hopefully getting a couple Welsh females from a fellow member as long as hatch and female ratio is good..it’s only her second hatch and only nine eggs at about day 18 or so..but fingers crossed!! First time duck owner and I just LOVE them but I knew I would :) lol..adding chickens soon as we move about July or so..and plans for many more but I’m gonna take my time maybe add rabbits this year as well ..but seeing as we’re still renting (I’m looking to buy next couple years) have to watch my animal math lol..can’t have to many to move so I’ll be sticking with ducks and soon chickens maybe some rabbits for awhile..I love this site and am sooo grateful I have found it!! And this thread looked like a great chat, info and place to just gossip and meet some new friends!! Anyhow thanks for reading and hope everyone has a great day!! And to the expecting grandma congratulations my daughter just had my first in September I was blessed to be able to be there and even got to cut her cord and experience I will never forget and always hold dear to my heart!!
Welcome! Great introduction! The pond is full of great folks, but yeah, like WV said, it's been kind of quiet lately. The real world definitely has a way of creeping into our chicken-chatting lives (also, it's finally spring in most places, so folks are outside instead of in on their computers!)

Have a great day everyone.
Mom is in the hospital again. It's always hard to get to the bottom of everything, so I will probably make the trek up there Wednesday to see what I can figure out.

Thanks @orrpeople yes spring thank goodness :celebrate just in time too I was really getting the winter blues!! Being off work didn’t help either had ACDF surgery end of March and just now getting to where I can lift and do more strenuous activities..hopefully I’ll be back to work last week or so of May..I hope everything’s okay with your Ma, mine has health problems too and I worry about her..

I sold 10 keets with a "teacher " polish chick today! :yesss:
:clap
This is a small town sure. . but that doesn't mean bad things don't happen. If people wanna let their kids stay up late on a Saturday night that's not my business. . . but good grief keep them at home! Not out disturbing the neighborhood. My dogs were going insane barking and the ducks were alerting stranger danger well past midnight. I am so sick of idiot neighbors!
Dang it all... you just have the worst luck with those neighbors ..:hugs
Run some hot wire back there but dont tell em...:lau
Wow, we just got to post #125,000!!
We sure talk alot. :lau
:celebrate :wee
Wasnt all my fault this time...:D
Was it?:oops::lau
It's the leghorn in them I think. They're nice enough, just from a distance. You need some Silverudd's.

Apparently it got really crazy and I completely missed this! I'm so sorry!
All in all, things went well - just woke up from a nap :)
I hope your day was a good one!
No worries:hugs im glad ya got to get a nap!:D
I just got a bunch of laundry done and hung on the lines outside.. im so happy to be able to put them on the outside lines now..:celebrate
Good evening, Pond!
Busy day here. Church, out to lunch with friends, a trip to the Greenhouse for plants, putting said plants in the garden, then sitting out in the yard, just enjoying nature at it's finest. Birds galore, deer, sunshine and great weather. What more could a person ask for?

Still on baby watch. Granddaughter #2's due date was today. No news so far.

Hope you all have had a wonderful day!
Any news yet? :pop:fl

Not fun..:hugs
You should see if you can find him a little dorm fridge at a second hand shop and put it on the porch. Just for his stinky stuff..:lau
Hey deb, I think there's some kind of medical protest, or walkout, or something tomorrow. Is that going to affect you at all? I'm hoping not. :fl

@perchie.girl
:fl:fl
Havent heard from her in a day or two..:(:(

I was 40+ pages behind! So great pics on all the new baby critters and :fl the ongoing hatches.

Neighbors... Good ones are worth their weight in gold - bad ones can make life really hellish! I hope things settle down a bit for you on that front.

We had some real idiots that shared our southern property line (some of you might remember they were the ones that accidentally started a fire that scorched another neighbor right up to their back door and destroyed over 500 of our hand planted now 12 ft tall white pines and scorched our meadow when they passed out before putting out their party bonfire) they finally got foreclosed on by the bank but it took almost 6 months to get them out. They're gone but there's been a crew over there for two weeks cleaning up the property, hauling out trailer loads of junk and realtor sign is up. Finally got DH to see the wisdom in finally fencing that stretch of the property line, pointing out that we have no control over who buys the place next and what they'll think they can put on that little 2 acre lot that won't stay on that little 2 acre lot (reminded him we had had problems in the past with dogs, cats, kids with paintball guns, grownups with rifles and handguns, all coming from that property, DH got the picture) and I had had enough of defending my animals, and us. Anyway that is what is on our work list for the week.

Took the puppers to the vet on Friday to unstitch the eye to find out if the surgery worked or not, aaaannnddd,
SUCCESS!!!:wee My girl can see again! WHEW!!!!

Well it's supposed to get close to 80o today so I better get outside before it gets too hot. spring.jpg
