Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Ya. . I think 16 would be good enough. I worked a job at 17 and had to be at work at 4:30 am. I was warned back then by the cop at the time to go straight to work or I could get in trouble for curfew law. . but don't know if that was true. I don't care if the kids are out at night.
Or even how loud they are really. . if they were in their own yard not bothering my animals and me. My 80 something neighbor lady lives alone and doesn't need the stress of kids screaming in the street all night. It makes her uneasy I'm sure.
Yeah I agree that 16 is reasonable.....I started working at 12 first was a paper route... Which they split into 3 when I won't cuz I had built up a major customer base.... Never even kept paperwork my member was real good then.
Yeah the Detroit News loved me....I was a good salesman at the time.
Then at 13 I started washing dishes and bussing tables.... Always had a job..... And for a high school kid always had a nice car too.
I was no angel though....I loved my substances even back then.... But I stayed out of trouble. But one time in the way home from work I had a box of match books....I lit match books and left a trail of burning match books down the road.... The cops stopped me it was like 1am but I told them I just was walking home from work..... They told me to stop it and let me go.....

Morning all!! I’ve been somewhat lurking this thread for awhile..finally figured I’d say hello and introduce myself..names AngieMae 40 yrs old from Ohio and Texas I live in Ohio..kids grown and gone still have a almost 15 yr old but he lives with Daddy now, time for him to become a man..anyways I’m a huge animal lover and often get told how I’m an animal whisperer :lau but I just love em and have I guess patience :idunno..I’ve had many animals in my time from rats and ferrets to a cockatoo.. including a small farm years ago when I was married had chickens, rabbits, horses, some cows ,and always a pig or two.also hounds can’t forget the huntin dogs haha..I also love gardening and well pretty much anything outdoors camping, fishing, kayaking etc..I’ve always missed the “farm” life and swore one day I’d have it again..right now I just have my dog Baby she a Morkie and my two Pekins Zig and Zag.. hopefully getting a couple Welsh females from a fellow member as long as hatch and female ratio is good..it’s only her second hatch and only nine eggs at about day 18 or so..but fingers crossed!! First time duck owner and I just LOVE them but I knew I would :) lol..adding chickens soon as we move about July or so..and plans for many more but I’m gonna take my time maybe add rabbits this year as well ..but seeing as we’re still renting (I’m looking to buy next couple years) have to watch my animal math lol..can’t have to many to move so I’ll be sticking with ducks and soon chickens maybe some rabbits for awhile..I love this site and am sooo grateful I have found it!! And this thread looked like a great chat, info and place to just gossip and meet some new friends!! Anyhow thanks for reading and hope everyone has a great day!! And to the expecting grandma congratulations my daughter just had my first in September I was blessed to be able to be there and even got to cut her cord and experience I will never forget and always hold dear to my heart!!
Hello, glad you decided to join in!

I actually had the kids hang a moose skull and backbone on a tripod by the start of my property.

We have some more dead critter parts I want the kids to hang up. I am going for Blair Witch scary.

Gotta be better than no trespassing signs I think.
When I was a kid, there was a house down the road with the old "Those seen hanging around here in the evening will be seen hanging around here in the morning" sign. We never went there. .. Not even on Halloween.

Ya. . I don't remember anyone ever getting in trouble for being out late unless they were causing problems.
I just heard from my mother in law that someone got in trouble for setting fireworks off down by the retirement homes last night!! The old people thought it was a shot gun blast. :rantI bet it was those neighbor kids! We don't live far from there. :he

Oh that's horrible! I feel so bad for all 3 of you! :hugs How long do you think you'll be gone?
Well, I'm going just for the day on Wednesday. I may have to go back, but I have three weeks until mammalian (Monroe's choice for piano... He's killing me tonight) recital, so I have to be here T and Th. If I could wait until Friday it would be best, but I got the distinct impression I should go earlier.

Lol!
It just makes me sad that I feel like I have to be this protective cause kids have no respect. It used to be all the kids in town knew that my house was "safe" and they could come get me if they needed anything or was in trouble. It's just not that way any more. Now I feel like I need protection from the kids :lau
