Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Lol!
It just makes me sad that I feel like I have to be this protective cause kids have no respect. It used to be all the kids in town knew that my house was "safe" and they could come get me if they needed anything or was in trouble. It's just not that way any more. Now I feel like I need protection from the kids :lau

I just realized.... There are no kids in my neighborhood..... Me and my wife are are the youngsters on the block...........:)

Ya. . I don't remember anyone ever getting in trouble for being out late unless they were causing problems.
I just heard from my mother in law that someone got in trouble for setting fireworks off down by the retirement homes last night!! The old people thought it was a shot gun blast. :rantI bet it was those neighbor kids! We don't live far from there. :he
The fireworks might have been my kids, but our closest neighbors were a mile away at that time (we now have neighbors 1/2 a mile away - it's getting crowded!). One night our bachelor neighbor called and asked DH if he was hearing gunshots. Neighbor was wondering if someone was shooting carp in his creek. DH said, "No, the boys are home." Neighbor completely understood.
Well, I'm going just for the day on Wednesday. I may have to go back, but I have three weeks until mammalian (Monroe's choice for piano... He's killing me tonight) recital, so I have to be here T and Th. If I could wait until Friday it would be best, but I got the distinct impression I should go earlier.
Then yes - you definitely should go. I have learned a long time ago not to ignore that inner voice that says I should do something.

When I was a kid, there was a house down the road with the old "Those seen hanging around here in the evening will be seen hanging around here in the morning" sign. We never went there. .. Not even on Halloween.

That's a good one.
I'd post a bunch of these.

I'm not the best with words, but I give great hugs.

Know I've been a bit MIA but spring has finally found us up here and it's time to get it in gear (or at least find the gear, not as easy for us age challenged pondites).
I was 40+ pages behind! So great pics on all the new baby critters and :fl the ongoing hatches.

HI DIVA! :frow

Welcome!!!:welcome

We had some real idiots that shared our southern property line (some of you might remember they were the ones that accidentally started a fire that scorched another neighbor right up to their back door and destroyed over 500 of our hand planted now 12 ft tall white pines and scorched our meadow when they passed out before putting out their party bonfire) they finally got foreclosed on by the bank but it took almost 6 months to get them out. They're gone but there's been a crew over there for two weeks cleaning up the property, hauling out trailer loads of junk and realtor sign is up. Finally got DH to see the wisdom in finally fencing that stretch of the property line, pointing out that we have no control over who buys the place next and what they'll think they can put on that little 2 acre lot that won't stay on that little 2 acre lot (reminded him we had had problems in the past with dogs, cats, kids with paintball guns, grownups with rifles and handguns, all coming from that property, DH got the picture) and I had had enough of defending my animals, and us. Anyway that is what is on our work list for the week.

Took the puppers to the vet on Friday to unstitch the eye to find out if the surgery worked or not, aaaannnddd,
SUCCESS!!!:wee My girl can see again! WHEW!!!!

Well it's supposed to get close to 80o today so I better get outside before it gets too hot. View attachment 1377229
I told hubby i want the propety line towards the road fenced. " Why? "...
Um yeah, neighbors, drunk guys, stray dogs. I mean we have only had one incident but... why wait?

Well, I think I will lock down my eggs tomorrow (a little early) because I'll be gone on the actual day- some are bantams, so they might be a touch early anyway. I'm curious to candle the few remaining Papas eggs. And no, I haven't said anything about it yet. I'll wait until hatch is over to give him stats.
Good night.
