Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

And it’s so much funnier coming from the kid who said it. You all know the kid I’m talking about, because you’ve all dealt with this kid somewhere along the line. Good, fun kid who just blurts out whatever comes to mind and is so comical when he does it, it’s hard to get after him.
Oh i know that kid well... i have 2 actually..:lau

Yeah, I have those kids myself. Unfortunately, they all learned at an early age that if Mom is on a rant, make her laugh. Rant over. A classic in our family was when sons 2 & 3 were in the den punching each other. I went to the room and yelled at them to knock it off. Youngest looks at me in all seriousness and says, “It all started when he hit me back!” I had to walk away...

@WVduckchick if i find the hens and they're setting, should i leave them be or try to gather them up and pen them or take the eggs and incubate any that are developing? Im afraid of disturbing them and losing ducklings but also afraid if i leave them i could lose moms AND babies...:he:idunno

Hmmm, tough call. If they have been sitting long enough to commit, you could try moving them into a secure spot. And if they don't like the transfer, you can always pop them in the bator.
I guess the other option is to build something around them, wherever they are.

Good day, Pondies. I found one teeny baby rabbit dead , still in the sack on top of the nest box. Made me sad. Then found a chick in the brooder, nearly dead, limp. I am blaming the Brinsea heat plate for lack of warmth. Put the chick in a bator, maybe it will perk up.

I usually put a wash cloth under the puppy pad between the legs of the Brinsea plate for the first couple days, just to get them a little closer to the plate. Of course, I have mostly bantams, but the CL chicks are kinda small too.

Here we call him 'Al'. :lau

I guess it all depends on where they are.. been looking but it got too hot so once it cools off a bit this evening we'll go looking again..:fl

That is our Al isnt it:lau... and thats why we love him..:highfive:

"Here we call him 'Al'", indeed.

Lisa, still no ducks ? Watch the drakes. They may tell if the ducks are setting.

I'm tired. Trained dogs this AM, and just finished mowing the lawn. Generally I do half each day, but they are talking rain for the next 4 days.
Not yet and at the moment all the drakes are with the rest of the hens up here by the building...:(

Its just started raining here and i here thunder in the distance... and i just hung a load of laundry out an hour ago..

Yea, the drakes do kinda watch over the spot where the hens are. And even if I get close, my drake will start pacing back and forth.

Its been so humid here, we just wilt immediately. I think we will be getting more t-storms this evening.

And about the time you go grab everything off, it rains for 10 minutes and the sun comes back out. :gig
