Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

There's more room on the broom than normal... We lost our beautiful, sweet bunny 'Bun' yesterday. :hitI hate to admit it, but I didn't take it well. I cry when all of our animals die, but this one hit me harder than others. She was one of our unexpected pets that sort of found us & moved in, but was quickly beloved by all. I read that a Rex only lives 5-6yrs. We had her for at least 8, but her passing still came as a shock to me. Her giant bunny condo sits by the front door in our livingroom & she was very interactive day & night with the family. Now it sits there like a dark, empty, sad thing. I keep hearing phantom bunny noises that make me forget for a millisecond that shes gone. :(

Someone please distract me I tell me whats been going on here all week.
Oh broom!!! I am so, so sorry for your loss! Wow! She lived a really long bunny life! And, with your tribe, I am positive she was never a bored bunny! :)
I have come to believe our animals, even those who don't live out full, fat years like your sweet Bun, really have great lives - never knowing ill treatment of any kind.
As a famous frIend if mine once said, "Eat some ice cream... No, eat a lot of ice cream. It will make you feel better." (Okay, not a direct quote, but the idea is the same!) Love ya, Broom! :hugs

Now I have to scoot outside and give my spoiled chooks their breakfast of scrambled eggs and cold watermelon and make sure they have lots of cold water waiting in their favorite shady spots. Yes, they do have me well trained.
Have a great Monday fellow Pond dwellers
Try to stay cool! :fl
Hope you have a great day too!:)

Ok, this is a NOS vintage item being sold on Ebay. It's a laxative for chickens. Really??? :lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau
I collect old poultry vet stuff, especially those with great graphics, to display with my antique egg scales and such but this one cracked me up!

Ok, I'm all caught up. Happy belated Sour! I hope you're having a good & safe trip!

We've been hammered with late summer heat a solid month earlier than normal. I'm getting too old to take it. I made DH go to home depot to get one of those portable AC's & a stronger fan for the coop. He had to go to 3 different stores to get it & said that in the 1st store he walked in & saw people nearly in a fist fight trying to get the last one. He finally got one at Lowes & said they too sold out while he was there with people just frantically grabbing them. Crazy!!! It doesn't cool down the whole house, but at least it cools down one room that we can all pile into. My dog Meatball is getting too old for this kinda heat too.
Man, that's crazy!
What have the Temps been?
We are finally moving into a more normal July (high 90's, low hundreds) pattern this week. But it's still nothing like last year where we spent so many days in the hundred-teens, so I'm grateful for a more normal pattern.
Oh, and smoke. The smoke has come early. That huge Klamathon fire and winds from the north have given us quite the haze!

Like chickens need a laxative! If anything, they need a shutoff valve.
