Just picked it up yesterday. Just barely fit on my 12' trailer; had to add some Winter air.

Great score!!! That's what we need!!!! Don't have the dollars for new and nobody up here lets go of one until they die (machine or person).
Sorry I didn't catch too much else, I was just too far behind, so I'll just say that I am sorry for the losses, congrats on the sales and I hope everyone is safe from the fires, storms and hunts. Love all the pretty pics.
No one got a deer up here over the weekend but it was a good time none the less.
Was able to take a deep breath and relax Sunday pm, even got in a little quality time with my chooks and then back at it yesterday. 5 dozen more Deer Camp cookies, the holiday version (dried cranberries added and switched walnuts for hazelnuts), got the cranberry sauce made and the pumpkins roasted and processed for the pies.
The daughter and family will be arriving tomorrow afternoon and can only stay until after dinner on Thursday so today is get ahead of some outside chores, a touchup or two inside and maybe start the pies. Tomorrow morning will be finish the Thanksgiving dinner preps and get the mulled cider and the clam chowder on the stove since they will most likely be arriving just in time for an early dinner. Hmmmm, just had a thought. Wonder if I'll be able to squeeze in time to make some fresh bread? Haven't done that for a while and the house smelling of warm bread would probably be welcome when they arrive since the outside temps will only be in the teens.
Ok, enough of me rattling on, how are everyone else's holiday plans coming along?
Whether peaceful or hectic, I'll say a little prayer that all my pond mates have a wonderful safe and blessed one!

Made it out hunting all day today. I saw a huge flock of turkeys, almost walked right to me before they spotted me taking pics of them.

Hubby saw a bunch of deer, mostly does, one small buck, and one huge buck, but he was pistol hunting when the big one came thru, too far away. He took the rifle back out later and shot a big-body/small-rack buck right at sunset. (Good land management deer) I had already climbed out of my stand (got a bit drizzled on, I was worried to wait till dark with the ladder being wet) and was walking toward him when I heard the ka-boom! Deer ran right toward me and crashed. Then got up! I got my sights on it, thinking he must not have gotten a good hit, but it dropped again. I can’t wait to make some jerky!

I was sitting I'm my tree last night and a doe came in. It was funny she had her nose to the ground like a dog. She followed my path right up to the ladder. The she stood there and sniffed the ladder. At that point she looked straight up at me eye to eye. And she never saw me...... heck I wasn't even in camo.
I don't even own a hunting suit anymore. I left it in my friend's truck and never saw it again...... same truck i now own.
But she hung around till dark.
Was so much fun to watch her....I don't even think I'm gonna shoot another one.

Morning everybody , I had a killer day selling Sunday All the turkeys three goats . Twice DW has experienced the instant flock of people around my trailer. It's a hoot, DW had no clue I can speak so much Spanish .Had four good sized jakes and they went quick. sold within fifteen minutes . Made money on the turkeys broke even on the goats but the fainting billy goat is gone I'm out of chickens to sell. Maybe I'll go through my layers and cull some more .current count is 23 goats and maybe 100 chickens . Lowest number on chickens in a while .I'm up searching CL for more chickens.I contacted the lady I got the turkeys from. She has 17 hen turkeys left might buy them .Know they will sell, but when is the question. This buying for resale is time consuming. Not to mention makes my brain hurt .Everything I find is way away from me .And they only have a few , when I need a hundred . And at a price I can make a profit. But at least I'm not bored Headed north to look at a small flock .Good news I won't need sun screen

Lots of things affect their egg color too. the end of their laying cycle . Age as they get older the eggs get lighter . If you want all dark eggs . My advice would be cull any that lay light eggs or take longer to start coloring .And they burn out fast as good layers . Two years and they are all but done for. You might get three .

Congrats on the sales! Glad ya got that billy sold too!

Holy smokes!! Beautiful, but looks too cold for my bones to sit outside.
I got rained on a little yesterday, but luckily the tree I was in had just enough leaves left to shield most of the light rain.

Oh no!

Wasn't too bad...... it looked cold.
But it was in the 20's and I was wearing my parka. Didn't have a lick of orange on me.
Could have gotten a ticket but I haven't seen a C.O. in 20 some years...... besides I was miles from anyone..... was so still and quiet last night.
