Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Several years ago, we hardly needed to bother with orange either, but lately there are lots more folks out on our ridge. I don't worry much about COs, more worried about other hunters finding their way onto our property accidentally.
Hubby in his orange as we were headed out to our stands.

Hey, Ma, look at that orange deer up on the ridge!

How sweet it is! Little underbrush for easy, quiet walking, not too bad of a drag, & plenty of trees for deer to feel reasonably safe, even if you have to pick your spots. Only thing I'd do to it for now would be to maybe open an ATV trail to cut the dragging down as much as possible. It didn't used to bother me, either.

We already have trails that snake the whole property. Makes filling feeders and checking cameras easier. But when we go to sit, we drive down to the low spot, then walk out to the stands.
Worst thing is the elevation changes. My legs are too out of shape this year. Sore today!

You'll find water if you step in the right place..... is not a Loiusiana style swamp.... is a cedar swamp...... this swamp I'm hunting.... I'm on the edge of a 20 mile long swamp.
And I'll bet there are places no one had ever stepped foot in.... or at least in a long time.
I know of a lot of places around here where I'm the only person to step foot for the last 35 years...
Great for hunting; not so great if you get sick or hurt with no cell signal.

I actually forgot what it was like to hunt in other places.... yeah I can see aren't orange would be important.....I wonder how any deer survive with that kinda pressure.
But I guess you all have more deer .... we don't have many up here..... some places less than one per square mile.
Not the most hospitable place for deer to live.
But the ones we get are big body animal.

Still looks like a real hot spot! How large an area are you hunting?

Well... getting ready to go feed my deer..... then I'm gonna fix the exhaust on my plow truck.
I need too....i run yo to the Steel Center and buy a sheet of 1/4" plate. Sure they aren't giving that at either. Have no idea how much that's gonna cost these days. By I want to patch the frame on my plow truck too....i get it though the winter.
